I have been using this BBS since the end of February (I recently changed my screenname), and loads of questions regarding rare songs get asked. Therefore, this thread must be bumped up for any newbies or users who need to know/obtain things.
If you want to download any rare Offspring songs, you will find them quite easily actually on Limewire. DO NOT use WinMX because it is crap - I got 52 Girs, 100 Punks and 80 Times using that, but took me months to find a user who had the song. You'll probably even find The Blurb using Limewire - I certainly did, and Baghdad is easy to get too.
The only song you probably won't find is Cocktail. I used eMule for that, but you can in fact get it from the Polish Offspring site. It is this option:
Bonus track z Ixnay On The Hombre vinyl - jak zrobić koktail mołotowa (88 kB)
On this page: http://www.offspring.art.pl/?m=media&category=i
If you can't find the songs on Limewire, then just use this page:
http://www.offspring.art.pl/?m=media&category=a
Demos are harder to find. This option:
Fragment demo z nadchodącej płyty Splinter (696 kB)
On this page: http://www.offspring.art.pl/?m=media&category=i
That is a sample demo for the making of Splinter. Here are a list of other demos/older versions I have:
- Blackball (1986 Version, released from the Blackball Vinyl Single)
- I'll Be Waiting (1986 Version, see above)
- Get It Right (Baghdad 7" Single version)
- Hey Joe (see above)
- Living In Chaos
- Original Prankster (I have two demo versions)
- Revelations (Out on Patrol demo)
- Take It Like A Man
- That Day (I'll Be Waiting Demo)
- The New Disease (Blackball Demo)
- What Are We Heading For (Jennifer Lost The War Demo)
These aren't much different from the proper version apart from lower quality and slower tempo. I do prefer the 1986 version of Blackball and the older version of Hey Joe (slightly faster tempo to the 1996 version and a decent guitar riff at the beginning). Regarding Hey Joe, the version most of you will have is the 1996 version released with the Gone Away single. The one in my list of Demos is the version from the Baghdad 7" Single.
Any queries, or if you want any songs but you can't get hold of them - e-mail me, my address is samuraijamesroolz@hotmail.com or contact me on MSN (my e-mail address is my addy).
Pleased to help.
