There's a Vietnamese woman at work who claims to have allergies.
She sits there all day long sniffing her snot back into her nose. It
goes like this.....sniff...1, 2...sniff...1, 2...sniff...1, 2...sniff...sniff...
sniff...sniff...etc. she started this really bad about 4 weeks ago.
I listened to it for about 2 days, finally I asked her if she needed
kleenex. She said her nose wasn't running, it just tickled. I told her
she should really try to stop sniffing like that because it sounded really
bad and was very annoying. She said she was sorry and she would try
to stop. Then she goes to our boss and tells her that I said she, (the
Vietnamese woman), was annoying! Nothing was ever said to me tho.
She stopped sniffing for 1-1/2 days, then she started back up again even
worse than before. I finally went to the executive VP and told him I was
going to be using earplugs or a discman. He said it was OK with him.
The company bought me earplugs. I've been using them, but they are
drying out my ears and making them itch, I'm getting sick to my stomach
and getting dizzy spells. I try to go without them, but she just never stops
sniffing! HR claims they can't do anything about it because she has allergies,
but I think that's bullshit. They could at least talk to her, don't you think?
I went to HR today and told her either they move her or me. I don't know
what's gonna happen now, but I just can't concentrate on my work with her
sniffing her nose like that. And when she thinks the sniffing isn't getting to me, she starts banging things around and coughing. I want to walk over to her and smack her upside the head! She says she can't take anything for the allergies because she wants to get pregnant. Now what does that have to do with getting pregnant. If she's worried about the allergy medicine damaging the fetus, she could stop taking the medicine AFTER she gets pregnant. This girl also takes long breaks and long lunches, plays on the internet during work hours, takes naps during work hours, clips coupons during work hours, etc, etc. Makes me wonder who she's blowing!
Would someone sniffing like that constantly 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, bother you?
