What's a townie?

A teenager between the age of 12 - 18 (generally) who hangs around street corners and shopping centres. They hang around in big groups, drinking cheap cider and stella. They are generally very loud, obnoxious, and will step up for a fight at the slightest provocation. They tend to back down if they are outnumbered or if the Alpha Male has been taken out.

They have several names. The most common is 'Chav' (England) or 'ned' (Scotland)
