i was listening to the purple version of the pretty fly single and the chorus is different slightly and it puzzled me

I don't think it's that much better than the original. I think the lyrics for the regular version fit in more. The vocals in the alternate sound like Dexter was doing a karaoke, too. Not that his singing is bad, it's just how they recorded the chorus.
