I just found my oooold Worms Armageddon CD again, and tried to join a game through the dedicated server, Wormnet. I was connected with the host, and about to actually join, and got a little alert telling me to check if the CD was in the drive. and it definitely WAS there.

so what the fuck ?

Sounds like a classic case of a missing .exe file (aka no-cd crack). If you're running a burnt copy of the game (i.e. not original), you will need to download a crack so it actually plays.

Otherwise, i've no clue beyond the CD is malfunctioning.
