But my creative juices don't seem to be flowing very fluidly tonight. I could go the route of, "What's your favorite..." or "do you prefer..." However, I did want this thread to be slightly original.

It's so horrible when you have to write a text for an exam and you have no idea what to write. Then you look at the clock and you realise that you have to find ideas or you'll have 0%. Arg. It happened to me today. =(

Does it even need the "#/#" counter, anyway? Just call it an "I wish this thread was locked" counter. The thread isn't a creature, so it doesn't need power and toughness modifiers. The "I wish this thread was locked" counter is more like a fade counter, or something to that effect.

You don't know the thread isn't a creature. It would probably be most logical to make it a land, but it could be a creature too.

Maybe your use of "long and hard" could be an insight into what you were REALLY thinking about. Too bad people are only talking about "flaccid" now. :(

Why is a thread an instant? They pop up for a second and then go away. Threads can stay around for a while.

I'm more likely to say it's a land, but it could be a creature simply because threads can cling around for a while, or they can die or they can die and then get bumped (regenerated). Also, some threads can be quite damaging to the people that are attacked by them.
