View Full Version : Signatures
stop pulling funny posts entirely out of context & making them about as random as my mother's left boob. I understand that it seems completely logical to grab a quote you like & use it as your signature, but most of the times it's their context, or their non-existing context that makes them as hilarious as they are. it's pure & utter rape of humour to kidnap a good quote from it's original post &/or replies & place it underneith every post you make, to leave people wondering how that post was funny in the first place.

Hah. That was brilliant.
I have signatures enabled. why doesnt everyone do that?!
And it took me a while to realize that this was the reason I didnt understand Sanni's "awesome pwnage". Heh. (AKA "What's so funny about "I totally agree?"." Yeah, sometimes I do miss stuff, but usually it's hardly a comparsion to not having to deal with stupid siggies).

Disabled, maybe?
I think you mean "unenabled" - enable is to allow or make something possible.
Anyways, yeah, most signatures are vapid or useless but sometimes they are friggin' hilarious.

Yeah, she meant disabled.
When people complain about sigs on this BBS, it drives me insane. This is the first board I've been on with image sigs disabled, so anything less than a 900 pixel sig sounds like pointless complaining to me.
And about the original post: sometimes removing the context is stupid and produces unfunny results, while other times the context isn't removed at all; it's just manipulated. That can enhance humor.

I've used to use (lolz) quotes on my signature. I grew bored of it, so now I have signatures disabled.
EDIT: By the way, I'm curious - I turned off the show signatures option; however, my signature field isn't empty... is it possible for other users to see mine?
Yes, I meant disabled :[

Read my post again.
EDIT: well, it turns out you answered my question. I'll erase the field then.

There, now it is empty. I had no idea that if you turned off the show signatures option, other users could still see yours...
fuckhotshitdamn, Sanni. wild seckts now plz.
Alright, alright, though I don't know how long I'll keep this sig. People might think I have a crush on your mother.

Sig quoting is awesome. Especially when you can pull something out of context, make it funnier and leave people wondering what the fuck it was all about.

Bella, I hate to quote my own signature, but you should realize that it's not necessary to make threads out of everything.
That's a joke, by the way.

*that* I fully agree with. in that case it's more like an inside joke, like my own signature.

yes, quoting is cool. But I can't choose.
You did say it. Okay, apart from the "I". But you did say it. In relation to Lord of The Flies but eh, hardly matters. ;p

The only context mine needs is that platinumpt was talking to me, and with no detectable sarcasm or irony.

Haha, doesn't surprise me he'd be capable of saying such thing. It's funny enough without context.

Ahh, Offspring lyrics quoted not in jest are always funny.
I have no stance on sigs but I feel like randomly replying.
Because I CAN.

My signature rules. It shows how much I rule, but also what an incredibly witty nick I have.
And quotes in signatures... I don't mind them. Unless they're too long, of course.

Your user title makes up for it anyway. I don't know why, but I just love it. It's so simple and pointless, but still.... funny. Ahhh... "Seņor Member".... hah.
