Yeah, like the title says, if there is a local band you really enjoy and want others to know, post them here.

All of the local bands here suck ass. They are all either:
A.) Nirvana rip-offs
B.) Boring emo
C.) Stupid generic "alternative metal".
Plus, every single band here does a cover of "867-5309" and every time I hear it I want to hurt someone.

Really cool old school Rock n Roll band from my town, I played a battle of the bands with them last weekend and I sincerely hope that they win. They fucking rule.
EDIT: Messed up the URL, but now it's fixed.

I have some friends who are forming a classic rock band. I haven't heard them yet, but I'll bet they'll be good with some practice.

You are saying that EVERY single local band in your city/town sucks? I find that incredibly hard to believe.
You really get on my nerves. Leave.
*whew!* I thought I was the only one who thought that! Please leave. Nobody likes you.

Congradulations, you can read.
Yes, every local band here that is currently playing shows sucks. Given, that's only around 7 or 8 bands, but there's not one good band in the bunch. However, like I mentioned, a few friends of mine are forming a band, and I know that as seperate musicians, they're all very talented, so together they should make a good band.

Hey! You didn't contribute! Awesome!
As for my local bands, I don't know of any that actually do original stuff. There a bunch of 'bands' that get together and cover stuff, and that's about it.

There is another band I knew (before they broke up) called Under*Go that pwn3d the shit out of all of these other guys. I'll upload some stuff later. Man, I am so glad I saw them live 4 times before they broke up. They were incredible.

My family is really good friends with the lead singer's family.
There's only one song on their myspace right now, but they're in the process of recording a demo.

The only local band I know of is Skit i det (http://www.skitidet.com/main.php). They played at my school once, and I thought they were alright. They look pretty gay though.

I actually like him. He's one of the better posters in GOD.

I would look into some of the above-mentionned if there were brief descriptions... these bands are all awesome in my opinion:
Indie pop rock from Toronto:
http://www.myspace.com/meligroveband
Listen to: Our Love Will Make The World Go Round
http://www.myspace.com/thegoldendogs
Listen to: Yeah!
Listen to: Never Meant Any Harm
More from Toronto:
http://www.cufftheduke.com/
Listen to: No Sleep, No Heat for "saloon ivory-tinkling and proggy art pop"
Listen to: The Ballad of Poor John Henry for "straight-up hoedown"
"Alt country" is the classification, but I like this review:
Their second album is an explosion of saloon ivory-tinkling and proggy art pop, with a few straight-up hoedowns thrown in. Though they're sonically all over the place, CTD manage to pull off most of their genre-jumpin' experiments. You've gotta love a band that busts out an Elton John-style soft-rocker about the effeminate hetero indie boy's gay/not gay conundrum, swings haphazardly through cantering surf-country about evil corporations and caps it off with a power ballad.
More indie pop from a little city beside Guelph:

Listen to: Virginia Black, Just Like the Movies, You Could've Been My Johnny Marr

Ok, the bands mentioned in my post earlier
Noon Layer Drive are a Grunge band apparently.
New Breed are a Papa Roach kind of band.
Avarice are screamo.
Anti-Chamber are a metal band.
Still haven't listened to them just got the description from the same site.

I could have guessed the genres from some of those band names... and I must have guessed right cause I'm not particularly interested in any of those genres.
No offense to them... I'm sure not everybody is into my happy dancin' music either.
