That guy is an idiot. You clearly should have been born at least 500 years ago.

Americans usually call it foosball. It's just table soccer.
Also possibly Jitz or gettone, according to wikipedia.

we have tons of names for that game in Brazil. It varies according to the state: Totó, pebolim, pimbolim...
And just to settle the name argument, here's a list:
Argentina: "Metegol"
U.S.: "Foosball"
Brasil: "Pebolim"
Türkei: "Langirt"
Canadá: "BabyFoot"
Belgien: "Kickeren"
Italia: "Calcetto"
France: "BabyFoot"
Great Britain: "Table Football"
Kärnten: "Balankern"
Chile: "Taca"
Finland: "Pöytäfutis"
Italia: "Calcio Balilla"
Holanda: "Tafel voetbal"
Deutchsland: "Tischfussball Spielen"
Viena: "Wuzln"
Norwegen: "Fotball Spill"
Portugal: "Pebolim"
Russland: "Nastonyi Football"
Viena: "Kurbeln"
Österreich: "Tischfussball Spielen"
England: "Table Soccer"
U.S.: "Foosball"
Hungria: "Csocso"
Schweiz: "Tschüttele, Jöggele"
Malta: "Comba"
Portugal: "Matraquilhos, matrecos"
Mauritus: "BabyFoot"
Israel: "Carduregel, shulchan"
Hungria: "Asztali Foci"
Slowenien: "NamizniNogomet"
Croacia: "Stolni Nogomet"
Denmark: "Bordfodbold"
The point is that it rules anywhere, anytime.
And, on topic: I should have been born in the future, where we can record dreams, phantasies and thoughts in a simple hand device.

Blah blah blah, I don't care what you've been doing with your friends. But I can completely picture you in 18th and 19th century clothes, that shiny lipstick of yours, lots of blush, curly hair and a body for rent.

hmmm it's not there, but i didn't write that list. Now i'm curious... I think it must be Metegol or Taca.
Haha, "BabyFoot". What gloriously shit name.
Syphilis is almost 500 years old, I still have no respect for that.

syphilis is a disease, babyfoot is a sport.
Game, rather.
And Andy, it doesn't sound quite as pathetic when said in French. Completely different pronounciation.

If I knew the answer to why table soccer is called a game instead of a sport, I'd sell it on eBay and be a rich, rich man. People would pay for wisdom like that.
In short, I don't know.
spotted the diff?
There's a difference?
And Table Tennis is a sport because it takes actual physical exertion to play. With Table Football, you just....stand there.

Of course I have.
One day, I was shopping with a friend of mine. I was wearing a mini jean skirt and a pink top. My lips were covered with a pink lip gloss which was shining and I had mascara on my eyelashes. My hair was shaped perfectly and I felt so pretty. And I said I didn't want to live in a small city and she said I ought to have born in a bigger city. That's all.
I know a friend of mine definitely should've been born at least a 100 years ago, if not that amount of time doubled. e-ve-ry-thing modern is not made for her & she can't enjoy it. the only things she enjoys, is drawing/doing creative stuff with her hands, Latin & dancing around like an idiot.
