You already uploaded a chunk of this stuff to another thread, but I just downloaded all the stuff I hadn't heard already.

I actually recognize 13 O'clock by Darker My Love. I downloaded it a long time ago but I think I accidentally deleted it last time I cleaned out my hard drive. I really like it. Summer is Here is good too but 13 O'Clock is better. Neither of them are especially noisy though.

There's something about Dog Police that vaguely reminds me of early Devo and the Aquabats a little bit (partially because the Aquabats do almost nothing but imitate Devo). Maybe I'm just insane.

I like the Flying Luttenbacher's songs you uploaded this time but I remember not liking the stuff you put up before. Maybe I'll have to listen to them again.

Oneida are surprisingly pretty.

Plot to Blow up the Eiffel Tower are really good.

This Moment in Black History are really good too. For some reason the bass reminds me a little of more hardcore Candy Machine stuff. Really the whole song sounds vaguely similar to them in my mind but it's mostly the bass.

Three Bad Jacks are pretty badass.

Dr. Doctor are fucking awesome. I've been listening to them almost daily since you first uploaded their EP not long ago. I'm kind if disappointed I had to settle for downloading it though because I asked them if there's any place I can buy it from and they said I could get it on iTunes =/

Also, I've been listening to the Naked City box set again in my car the last few days so yay for that.

i suck and haven't been able to make it to any of the dr. doctor shows lately due to either cancelation or family stuff. but april 7th! april 7th i'm SO there! they put on a hell of a performance. not quite as good as plot to blow up the eiffel tower (probably the best show i've ever been to), but they're better than horse the band (also a damned fine show, though). and much better than all the quasi-generic hardcore band shows i've been to.

Yeah, I enjoy Dr. Doctor pretty much. I think my favourite song so far is still the "We are becoming ghosts" one, but I may change my mind.

I chose to download a few of the "safer" sounding songs.

Umm... Darker My Love and Three Bad Jacks sounds decent. The things described as dance something or other are okay too, but don't really make me wanna dance as much as I'd like.

I could only go through one song per band of about half the list. I think it was a little bit too much to take in for one day.

Anyways, I really enjoyed the instrumentation of the majority of what I heard. I have a soft spot for strange dissonant music in my heart. I love it. However, I was lucky if I could stand half of the vocalists. I don’t necessarily hate the screaming. I just didn't like the way some of those people did it. The Daughter Nurse one was great though. You need to upload more of that band.

I wanted to kill the vocalist for Death of Ana Katina ..ugh....

Dog Police was fun.

Oktober Skyline was one of the bands that has the type of screaming that I hate.

You had already gotten me into Naked City in my saxophone thread and I thank you for that. I could confidently say they're one of my favorite bands now.

The Mean Reds - Island of the Sea took me a couple listens to like it. You know... it took me a while to get what was going on.

I didn't like Ex Models - Chrome Hearts.

I like what the instruments were doing for An Albatross but I hated the vocals. It usually takes a while to get into the vocals of any band so I might start liking it later.

Annabel Lee Murders were cool but not my thing.

Black Eyes is once again one of those band that have great instrumentation but don't have the type of vocals that I could enjoy.


I'm surprised you're not a Buckethead fan. If dissonant, crazy, messy, and mathy is your thing, then he seems to play the type of music that's in your range of taste.

Also, have you ever heard of this math rock band called Polvo? When I was through listening to your stuff, I immediately thought you might like them. They aren't nearly as mathy and weird as the stuff you posted but still awesome nonetheless. Actually, Nieh, I think you'd like them too. Check these out.

I forgot all about downloading those Polvo songs until just now. I like them a whole bunch.

Regarding Buckethead, I'd personally recommend Monsters and Robots as a starting point. It seems to have the most range out of his releases so you'll probably find at least something on there you like. You hear a decent bit of his hyperspeed-jazzy playing, you hear some of his more metally stuff, you hear some silly funkier stuff, some songs that almost pass for Primus (partially because Les Claypool plays on about half the tracks) some campy-"spooky" rapping, some soft acoustic stuff, and some other stuff that I can't remember off the top of my head. Every album is different though, so it really depends on what you want from him. Cuckoo Clocks of Hell is probably his heaviest and most math-y album though, so you might like that one more. It tends to jump from high speed death-metally stuff to silly funky stuff (based on the songs I've heard on it).

Yeah, every album tends to be completely different. You'll probably only like a small percentage of his work but you'll definitely find at least an album or two that you'll like. I'll upload a couple of mp3s of a few albums.
