So so so so sorry that I dropped the ball on this. I've just been rather busy and whatnot. Graduating high school and getting a job and all. But I have some great music planned! I uploaded onto my ftp so this is an experiment in getting it to work right.
Alright tonight ladies and gentleman, I have for you, the music of Oregon! This is a continuation of the theme of last time, where I invited everyone to hear traditional folk music of America. But now I have more modern music for you (mostly,) from the state of Oregon. And then next time I will just choose something more normal.
If the links don't work, try right clicking, and saving as.
First I will start with the oldest. This song has been considered for the State Anthem of Oregon. This is Louie Louie by The Kingsmen. A classic!

If you ever went to church in Oregon as a child, you've probably heard the Christian version, "Pharoah Pharoah". And no, that is not a joke... :(
And now in particular, I would like to introduce to you some artists from my hometown. The most famous would be The Cherry Poppin' Daddies. Who are also totally awesome. If you like swing music, you will like them.
Zoot Suit Riot by the Cherry Poppin' Daddies (http://action-online.org/ZootSuitRiot.wma)
Here Comes the Snake by The Cherry Poppin' Daddies (http://action-online.org/Here Comes the Snake.wma)
Come Back to Me by The Cherry Poppin' Daddies (http://action-online.org/ComeBacktoMe.wma)
Another well known (but not very!) Eugene band would be Floater. They are actually quite interesting to listen to. You should definitely check it out!
The Sad Ballad of Danny Boy by Floater (http://action-online.org/floatersadballad.mp3)
Independence Day by Floater (http://action-online.org/floaterid.mp3)
Clean Plastic Baby by Floater (http://action-online.org/FloaterCleanPlasticBaby.mp3)
My favorite of Floater would be The Sad Ballad of Danny Boy.
One of these bands was introduced to me by a person on here. The other band is good, and I know both Tizz and Betty listen to them (The Dandy Warhols.) And the 3rd band was introduced to me by Betty, but I know Tizz likes them a lot too (The Decemberists.)
So let's start with the band unmentioned, The Shins. They sound really great. I wish I knew more about them. Here are two good songs!
Pink Bullets by The Shins (http://action-online.org/pinkbullets.mp3)
So Says I by The Shins (http://action-online.org/sosaysi.mp3)
The Dandy Warhols are most recognized in certain commercials. That song Bohemian Like You seemed to be everywhere at some point. But they are really good. The first two songs are from 13 Songs From Bohemia. A great album indeed!
Bohemian Like You by the Dandy Warhols (http://action-online.org/bohemianlikeyou.mp3)
Godless by The Dandy Warhols (http://action-online.org/godless.mp3)
We Used To Be Friends by The Dandy Warhols (http://action-online.org/dwusedto.wma)
And the final band is the Decemberists. Named after the Russian 19th century revolutionaries. They remind me a little bit of Belle and Sebastian. They are definintely very good. Interesting songs that usually tell stories. And just sound good.
Billy Liar by The Decemberists (http://action-online.org/billyliar.mp3)
Red Right Ankle by The Decemberists (http://action-online.org/redrightankle.mp3)
Chimbley Sweep by the Decemberists (http://action-online.org/chimbleysweep.mp3)
Enjoy!
