I was obsessed with them when I was 12, and couldn't take them seriously anymore by the time I was 13. No joke.

Still, some of their songs are extremely good, even to this day; Prisoner and Light Years are my favorites, both coincidentally from the Transistor album. Hive is great as well.

311 is considered a racist anagram. The 11th word in the alphabet is "k" and 3 "k's" is well -- awesome.

Did the band consider that? I'm assuming so, as otherwise 311 is kind of a random number. Either way that's awesome.

Yeah, one of the band members was caught skinny dipping and he was charged with a 311, thus the name of the band. I heard that in an interview.

I know you're not talking about this horrible band, (right?) but as soon as I read that that horrible summer girls song got stuck in my head, also reminding me of 98 degrees, back when people remembered that horrible band.

And I have nothing against 98 degrees, if only because I think Nick Lachey is a cutie.
