Sorry for bumping this old thread but I got some "new" information about this version.

I just got hold of the master copy just used for this song in the UK. The version that was on this copy is the version discussed in this thread; the demo version (I assume):

I totally don't remember hearing this, but this is pretty cool. I love how the chorus is barely different, but the way they fine tuned the lyrics makes it so much better.

Yeah, it's pretty much the same song except for the lyrics and the use of "Come on and do that brand new thing" instead of "Hey, hey, do that brand new thing".
