I've been on a binge to hear more and more of these types of songs lately, both about the act itself, and anti-suicide songs.
They've been helping me cope over the last few days. My ex-girlfriend killed herself on Friday at the age of 15. It was all over a boy. I've been sad about it...so what are some good songs on this topic?
Post lyrics.

Voices! You're letting voices tell you what to do
When you yourself don't know.
Voices! You got one too, so let it out
And let us know when you're feeling all alone.
Well I know,
There are times when- you're feeling close to the ground
And there's times when- you may feel there's no place to call home
And there's times when- your best friend just seems so far away
And there's times when- the only end in sight is the end
You've got to come out fighting! Come out fighting! Come out fighting!
Don't let it get you down.
Problems! I've got em too but keeping them inside is not the thing to do.
Problems! You've got to face hang-ups head-on, before you know they're hangin' you.
You've got to come out fighting! Come out fighting! Come out fighting!
All alone yes all alone. Loneliness, it is something we all know.
Woooh all alone, yes all alone. Been there before so please believe me
'cause I know.
Woooooooooh. Sorry to say to your dismay your life is not the only one that you affect.
Don't you realize that a part of all of us will die inside when you yourself are dead.
You've got to come out fighting! Come out fighting! Come out fighting!
Come out fighting!
Warning you, warning you, warning me.

When something similar happened to me I spent the week listening to Sex, Love & Rock 'n' Roll by Social Distortion. It was a temendous help.

Bad Astronaut: Twelve Small Steps, One Giant Disappointment (album)
-Side project for Joey Cape of Lagwagon, their drummer committed suicide during the recording process, and the album was essentially finished in his honor.
Song example: One Giant Disappointment
How am I supposed to feel?
I thought we had an agreement
And real or not I believed it
Because always we'd ignore your demons
The world is full of victims, prey, disappointment
And it betrayed you
And you wanted out
Yeah you, you got out
It's a band, it's a bore
You saw something to live for
I saw more than hands with splinters from sticks
It made me sick
And I still haven't fully comprehended it
This world cannot be saved
True love will not be found
It's all unstable ground
I've always understood
Where you came from
But you were wrong
Yeah we were wrong
It's almost done
It is the last vocal,
the last song I'll ever write for anyone
Because we wanted out
And you, you got out

Billy Talent - Nothing To Lose
Need more friends with wings
All the angels I know
Put concrete in my veins
I’d always walk home alone
So I became lifeless
Just like my telephone
There’s nothing to lose
When no one knows your name
There’s nothing to gain
But the days don’t seem to change
Never played truth or dare
I’d have to check my mirror
To see if I’m still here
My parents had no clue
That I ate all my lunches
Alone in the bathroom
There’s nothing to lose
When no one knows your name
There’s nothing to gain
But the days don’t seem to change
There’s nothing to lose
My notebook will explain
There’s nothing to gain
And I can’t fight the pain
Teachers said "it's just a phase"
When I grow up my children
Will probably do the same
Kids just love to tease
Who'd know it put me underground
At seventeen
There’s nothing to lose
When no one knows your name
There’s nothing to gain
But the days don’t seem to change
There’s nothing to lose
My notebook will explain
There’s nothing to gain
And I can’t fight the pain
There’s nothing to lose
When no one knows your name
There’s nothing to gain
But the days don’t seem to change
There’s nothing to lose
When no one knows your name
There’s nothing to gain
And I just died today
Although, I don't think this one's in the right context for your situation.
Sorry to hear about your ex.
Songs relating to suicide:
My Morning Jacket - What a Wonderful Man
Pearl Jam - Jeremy
Gloomy Sunday (I recommend the Billie Holiday version)
That's all I can think of at the moment.
Blink-182 - Adams Song (although this is pop)
...and Gone Away, I mean it's not about suicide but still, it is a great song if you are sad about someone who just died.

Bad Religion - Drastic Actions
Heard a word - suicide
Not from one, but from thousands that tried
The lawyer's wife and the teenage brat
One thing in common, they all wanted out
And it's plain to see
It goes for you and it goes for me
And all the screwed up little girls and boys
All thrown in without a choice
But I heard him say, "I want out"
No complaints and no doubts
Just a chance to go on
I heard a word - suicide
And not from one, but from thousands that tried
Want some attention and a little less regret
A teenage fluff - little threat
And there are those, there are those who think
That drastic actions will make them unique
It's really all the same
That no one's happy and nobody's to blame
And the moral to this story is old
It's quite taboo - seldom told
The seed is reaped before it's sown
A bad choice was never resolved
Apathy

Basically anything by Suicidal Tendencies? (Great band btw)
SUICIDE IS AN ALTERNATIVE
Sick of people - no ones real
Sick of chicks - they're all bitches
Sick of you - you're too hip
Sick of life - it sucks
Suicide's an alternative
Sick of trying - what's the point
Sick of talking - no one listens
Sick of listening - it's all lies
Sick of thinking - just end up confused
Sick of moving - never get no where
Sick of myself - don't wanna live
Sick and tired - and no one cares
Sick of life - it sucks
Sick of politics - for the rich
Sick of power - only oppresses
Sick of government - full of tyrants
Sick of school - total brainwash
Sick of music - top 40 sucks
Sick of myself - don't wanna live
Sick and tired - and no one cares
Sick of life - it sucks
Suicide's an alternative
Sick of life - it sucks
Sick and tired - and no one cares
Sick of myself - don't wanna live
Sick of living - I'm gonna die
YOU CANT BRING ME DOWN
What the hell's going on around here?
First off-let's take it from the start
Straight out-can't change what's in my heart
No one-can tear my beliefs apart, you can't bring me
You aint-never seen no one like me
Prevail-regardless what the cost might be
Power-flows inside of me, you can't bring me
Never-fall as long as I try
Refuse-to be part of your lie
Even-if it means I die, you can't bring me
You can't bring me down!
Who the hell you calling crazy?
You wouldn't know what crazy was if Charles Manson
...was eating Fruit Loops on your front porch
Time out-let's get something clear
I speak-more truth than you want to hear
Scapegoat-to cover up your fear, you can't bring me
You aint-never seen so much might
Fight for-what I know is right
What up-you got yourself a fight, you can't bring me
Stand up-we'll all sing along
Together-aint nothin' as strong
Won't quit-we aint in the wrong, you can't bring me
You can't bring me down!
Bring me down - you can't bring me down!
Bring me down - you can't bring me down, no!
Bring me down - you can't bring me down!
Bring me down - you can't bring me down, you can't bring me
down!
Tell them what's up rock!
You can't bring me down!
Bring me down - you can't bring me down!
Bring me down - you can't bring me down, no!
Bring me down - you can't bring me down!
Bring me down - you can't bring me down, you can't bring me
down!
So why you trying to bring me
So why you trying to bring
Well you can't bring me down
Just cause you don't understand what's going on
...don't mean it don't make no sense
And just cause you don't like it,...don't mean it aint no good
And let me tell you something
Before you go taking a walk in my world,
...you better take a look at the real world
Cause this aint no Mr. Rogers Neighborhood
Can you say "feel like shit?"
Yea maybe sometimes I do feel like shit
I aint happy about it, but I'd rather feel like shit
...than be full of shit!
And if I offended you, Oh I'm sorry
But, maybe you needed to be offended
But here's my apology and one more thing...Fuck you!
Cause you can't bring me down
Bring me down - you can't bring me down!
Bring me down - you can't bring me down, no!
Bring me down - you can't bring me down!
Bring me down - you can't bring me down, you can't bring me
down!
You can't bring me down!
Suicidal!
GIVE IT REVOLUTION
Throughout all time and history
The world's been mauled tyranny
Now we're refusing to take it
The worst evil the world has saw
Were crimes defended by the "law"
Deny our rights and we'll break it
You got to break the chains that hold you down
Crush the tyrants to the groud
Freedom cannot be legislated
We'll bow down to no other one
The Father and His Son
They can't deny what he's created
Most wars never should have been thought
But this is a war that must be fought
We'll take a wrong and we'll right it
The greatest weapon of the fascist
Is the tolerance of the pacifist
We've got to stand up and fight it
We'll give it
You got to give it revolution, give it revolution
We're gonna give it revolution, give it revolution
You got to give it revolution, give it revolution
We're gonna give it revolution
Well you can put a bullet in my head
But you can't kill a word I've said
You got the disease, I got the solution
No matter how much or more you try,
you can never ever make this martyr die
I give it revolution
Revolution!
You could put a bullet in my head
But you can't kill a word I've said
Give it revolution
No matter how or what you try
You can never ever make a martyr die
Give it revolution
Revolution
BUILT TO SURVIVE
You've heard about the war in my head
And I've been known to wake the dead
I'm not evil just possessed to skate
And feeling like shit, just don't feel great
Built to survive,
Built to survive,
Built to survive,
I'm built, I'm built, I'm built to survive
So much time spent alone
And I'm still searching for my home
Built to survive,
Built to survive,
Built to survive,
I'm built, I'm built, I'm built to survive
Had my scrapes with the law
Is that your mommy that I saw ?
They tried to ban us from L.A.
But every dog has his day
Built to survive,
Built to survive,
Built to survive,
I'm built, I'm built, I'm built to survive
And we're built to survive
It's 1999 and going cyco's all that's on my mind
Controlled by hatred lost again
What I don't need is a friend
I want more you fascist pig
We are family, we live to live
Built to survive,
Built to survive,
Built to survive,
I'm built, I'm built, I'm built to survive

Pretty much everything on the "Full Circle" album by Pennywise.
Pretty much everything on the "Resolve" album by Lagwagon.
Bad Astronaut: Twelve Small Steps, One Giant Disappointment (album)
-Side project for Joey Cape of Lagwagon, their drummer committed suicide during the recording process, and the album was essentially finished in his honor.
Song example: One Giant Disappointment
I've never heard of them. I really like Lagwagon, so I may have to check them out.
Dear darlin, your mom (my friend) left a message on my machine.
She was frantic, saying you were talking crazy.
That you wanted to do away with yourself. I guess she thought I would be
A perfect resort, cause we've had this inexplicable connection
Since our youth.
And yes, they're in shock, they are panicked
You and your chronic, them and their drama
You this embarrassment, us in the middle of this delusion
If we were our bodies
If we were our futures
If we were our defenses, I'd be joining you
If we were our culture
If we were our leaders
If we were our denials, I'd be joining you
I remember vividly a day years ago.
We were camping, you knew more than you thought you should know
You said "I don't want ever to be brainwashed"
And you were mindboggling, you were intense
You were uncomfortable in your own skin,
You were thirsty, but mostly you were beautiful
If we were our nametags
If we were our rejections
If we were our outcomes, I'd be joining you
If we were our indignities
If we were our successes
If we were our emotions, I'd be joining you
You and I, we're like 4 year olds
We want to know why and how come about everything
We want to reveal ourselves at will and speak our minds
And never talk small and be intuitive
And question mightily and find god, my tortured beacon
We need to find like-minded companions
If we were their condemnations
If we were their projections
If we were our paranoias, I'd be joining you
If we were our incomes
If we were our obsessions
If we were our afflictions, I'd be joining you
We need reflection, we need a really good memory
Feel free to call me a little more often
Joining You - Alanis Morissette
------------------
She likes to sleep with the radio on
So she can dream of her favorite song
The one that no one has ever sung since she was small
She'll never know that she made it up
She had a soul and we ate it up
Thrown away like a paper cup
The music falls
The only flaw in her detailed plan
Is where she wins back the love of her man
Everyone knows that he's never coming back
He took her heart and she took his name
He couldn't stand taking all the blame
He left her only with guilt and shame and then she cracked
Won't it be dull when we rid ourselves
Of all these demons haunting us
To keep us company
In the dream I refuse to have
She falls asleep in a lukewarm bath
We're left to deal with the aftermath again
On behalf of humanity
I will fight for your sanity
How profound such profanity can be
Won't it be dull when we rid ourselves
Of all these demons haunting us
To keep us company
Won't it be odd to be happy like we
Always thought we're supposed to feel
But never seem to be
Near where I live there's a viaduct
Where people jump when they're out of luck
Raining down on the cars and trucks below
They've put a net there to catch their fall
Like it'll stop anyone at all
What they don't know is when nature calls, you go
They say that Jesus and mental health
Are just for those who can help themselves
But what good is that when you live in hell on earth?
From the very fear that makes you want to die
Is just the same as what keeps you alive
It's way more trouble than some suicide is worth
Won't it be dull when we rid ourselves
Of all these demons haunting us
To keep us company
Won't it be odd to be happy like we
Always thought we're supposed to feel
But never seem to be
Hard to admit I fought the war on drugs
My hands were tied and the phone was bugged
Another died and the world just shrugged it off

When I'm Dead by Stabbing Westward
I know the tears you're crying in your bed at night alone
I've cried those tears a thousand times
But those shallow empty songs about suicide are patronizing
You've got to learn to face your fears
Or do you think I'll be less lonely when I'm dead
It can't silence all the voices in my head
I close my eyes but I can't make it go away
Do you think I'll be less lonely
God I pray that I'm not lonely
When I'm dead
When I'm dead
When I'm dead
When I'm dead I won't feel any pain
But when I'm dead I won't feel anything
When I'm dead
When I'm dead
When I'm dead
When I'm dead
I know the songs you're singing, saying nothing loud and clear
I've heard that song a thousand times
But your shallow empty lies about suicide are patronizing
You can never understand what I feel
Or do you think I'll be less lonely when I'm dead
It can't silence all the voices in my head
I close my eyes but I can't make it go away
Do you think I'll be less lonely
God I pray that I'm not lonely
When I'm dead
When I'm dead
When I'm dead
When I'm dead

Shame in You- Alice in Chains.
In My opinion, one of the best and also most depressing Alice in Chains songs.
The whole song sounds very sad and suicidal tome, but the verse that really gets me is...
When Im layin,
Im still tryin,
concentrating
on dyin
Yeah, if your looking for songs about suicide, AIC are a good band to start with.
