it looks like the new album will be large (box size) I can't fit the artwork on a regular 12cm height booklet

They could add pieces of chain on the left and right to make it wider. But it would still look a bit strange. You are absolutely right that the artwork - at least in its current form - does not fit in a CD case.

yeah but they also say it's about 30 discs....

The sides of the artwork are probly black, so they didn't need it for the website and just made it fit to thier homepage.
