Social Groups

It seems like it would be a good idea to make it so when someone makes a post to a social group you're a member of, it should give you some sort of notification. Is there anyway to make that an option?

Nice idea, but you should be able to turn it on/off. It could be called "Subscribe to social groups" or something like that.
And I think that social-group-posts should be included to your total post count:D

or have a sub postcount. or it only shows your social group postcount when you are looking at your post in a social group.
