So I've been a fan of both for a very long time and I always thought the singing styles were similar in some songs. But listening to the verses in fix you its pretty hard to ignore how much weird al and dexter sound a like. Anyone else agree?

I'm afraid if this were the case I wouldn't like The Offspring :o

When Weird Al did Pretty Fly For a Rabbi, I actually thought he got Dexter to sing. But in Fix You, Dexter sounds nothing like Weird Al.

Funny, I had the same thought in my review. I hear a lot of Weird Al in Kristy, not as much in Fix You, though. I am also a fan of Weird Al..

Isn't The Offspring 'officialy endorsed' by Weird Al?

Listen to Dave Quackenbush from the 'Hitler Bad, Vandals Good' album. He sounds more like weird there than Dexter does. Dexter sounds nothing like him.

If dexter's voice was a little whinier it would be very similar, but it isn't the case. they're just a little bit alike.

He really does sound like weird al in some songs.
And I'm not sure 'Fix You' is one of them.
But it's okay, because I love both dex and weird al. ^^

Just because they both sing in a higher pitch does not mean Dexter sounds like Weird Al.

I heard 'Kristy' on the radio and sincerely thought it was a Weird Al song.
