Today's dedicated guitar players are very strong, even in some unknown bands you can find a great one. I think that you also forgot Joe Satriani and Steve Vai.

no,really,bending is really easy,i mean,just check the live perfomances,Dexter`s guitar not only sounds louder for being the lead guitar,he also plays most of the solos and the hard work,exepting for "tkaa" and "dirty magic",also check the way that Dex performs a solo (for example at "what happened to you?" )and he plays it as in the record,but check the way Noodles performs them,he sounds bad....check the entire Woodstock show and you`ll know what I`m talkin about :)
