Anybody excited for this?
Their first single, Divinations (http://www.sendspace.com/file/1no2wj) was just released. I really like it. It's a far cry from earlier mastodon stuff, but I think I like the new stuff better anyway.
And that solo blows me away... Miserlou, go cry in the fucking corner.

I'm still in two minds about this. I may end up checking it out.
I didn't really care much for Blood Mountain (too rigid compared to the fluidity of Leviathan, though I think that was intentional) so I'm not sure if I'll be picking this up. I'll check the song out later though.
I was wrong about Blood Mountain. I just listened to it for the first time since it came out and it was really good. Dunno what I was listening to before to have the opinion on it that I did. Anyway, I just preordered this:

Saying that Blood Mountain wasn't "fluid" enough kinda baffled me too.
And that Special Edition set looks sweet as hell. I've always been a huge fan of their artwork. I think they've been using the same artist for their last three albums or something.

I like the single. It's likely that I'll end up getting this when it comes out.

Bitching artwork, and an instrumental version of the track Oblivion. I think I'm going to like the vibe of this record.

They have the new album up for streaming on their myspace.

I haven't heard all of it yet, but what I've heard was amazing. They use clean vocals a lot on this one.
I don't want to listen to it until I get the actual album in my hands. I wonder how soon they're going to ship them seeing as how the release date is less than a week away.

It's a mighty amazing album indeed, it has shitloads of stuff that is totally worth digging.
Who's planning on seeing them live?
"There's something about [the album] where it would be weird to leave a song out. We'll incorporate a whole stage show, which will hopefully make it even more exciting for kids to come see and more visually stimulating."

I'll be seeing them when they swing by Copenhagen along with Metallica and Lamb of God. Life is great.
