So I guess most of us play in standard tuning or drop-D, because we're just that great, and mostly I don't experiment too much with these things.
Sometimes I shift into open D, though, which is fun while it lasts.
Currently, though, I'm in what I guess is an open D minor tuning, and since I switched to it a few days ago I'm having a blast. DADFAd is the tuning in question, and the ability to play octaves and having pretty much everything sound quirky horror-movie soundtrack esque is pretty awesome. Definitely going to be using this one more in the future.
Do you guys experiment much with alternate tunings?
