Wow, another Artist of the Month honor. This is turning out to be a hell of a year! ;)
Hmmm, I'm wondering if I should just copy and paste my blurb from last time, as my musical style and background/influences haven't changed. In fact, go here (http://www.offspring.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37582) if you want to check that out. Sadly, the links don't work anymore, but let me know if you need anything.
Things have started to pick up a lot in the last couple of months, though. For starters, I finally found another guitarist, bassist, and drummer and I think we're on our way to something good. In the middle of next month, we have two shows: one with an Australian band called Bug Girl, and another one with an English Band called The Business. And in May with the The Rockets. Ever heard of any of them? I haven't. :D
Also, we're probably going to be changing our name soon. We all have different ideas on what's good so it's taking a while, but whatever it is, it's gonna be awesome.
I guess that's about it. Thanks to everyone who voted for me. I will make it worth your while this time. I have a few songs lined up to record next, and they will be done as soon as my computer gets fixed. It sucks because all of my recording gear is USB so I could record on this computer, but all of my programs are on mine. :(
Anyway, hope you enjoy the tunes!

Intro
I am the Fisticuffs. I hail from Fayetteville, NC, a military town completely infested with southern rock and screamo. I despise both of these, so I have largely had to rely on myself for musical motivation, and this is the product.
Musical Style
I, for one, am not against the use of genres to describe my music, because I believe it speaks enough for itself that I can say "hey, it's heavily punk-influenced alternative/rock" and the listener will still come away with his own idea of what it is. But now I'm talking out of my ass. My main goal is to write songs so catchy that they make you want to go out and strangle because you can't get 'em out of your head. I want to be an accessory to murder.
Musical Background/influences/etc
Every major thing that has ever happened to me musically has been a fluky mistake: becoming interested in rock music, picking up guitar for the first time, starting to write songs, getting into the Offspring. It's all stuff that was "right place, right time" moments and, in an episode of "Sliders", would not have happened on any other parallel dimension out there. Each is a cool story. I should tell you some time.
I find myself being a bit backwards as far as influences go. Except for an obvious few, I don't typically write the kind of music I listen to, and don't listen to what I write. As far as punk goes, I like Offspring, Blink 182, a li'l Green Day, and recently, Lagwagon. That's it. I'm not a huge fan of the genre at all, especially pop punk (which I realize all these bands are), and I actively attempt to avoid a lot of it, in order to not get too comfortable with that style. And regarding that side project, I don't listen to country, blues, folk, or "indie" at all, which leaves me to what I actually do listen to. Pop. And hell lots of it. It's where I get my catchiness from.
