How can anyone say that "Self Esteem" is one of their worst songs? :eek: Are you alright Subsidal? "Self Esteem" is encore on the most of their concerts! This is the one of their first big hits.

If I had to choose their worst song, it would "The worst hangover ever". It´s little boring. But in the other hand, "The Offspring" has got only great songs (maybe except "The worst hangover ever").

I can't answer the question about their worst song, because for me it doesn't really exist. But what I can say is that "Self Esteem" seems to be a sort of anthem for the fans. When I was on their concert on March 18th this year <<GREETINGS TO COLOGNE>> I was ill, I got a cold, that really sucked. So I had to get out for a moment because there was a girl who nearly throttled me because she wanted to stand on front me, saying reasons like "That's my favourite band" HAHA and I was just standing there because the band doesn't interest me or what? - I think she took drugs that evening - doesn't matter. :D The end of the story was that the band started playing Self Esteem and the crowd rushed back into the hall as if Stephen King's Pennywise is coming up to kill them.

The majority loves it but that doesn't mean that Subsidal has to love the song.
That was actually all I wanted to say... :)

Well, as an Offspring fan you have to do listen to a all CDs
to remember the songs, and then decide, after little more than 2 hours
listening to all the Offspring CD's I own I have decided to post the
following opinion.

The first time I listened to the old Cd's (the first 3) I only liked
2 or 3 songs, you have to listen to the songs at least 6 times, and
you will get the rythm, then fall in love with em ;) but some songs
just dont have what it takes for me, and well, here is the list.

Before I list them, I will tell you about my preferences:
-The faster the song, the greater the rock.
-Lyrics dont matter unless I am deeply pissed off, depressed or just want
to have fun. Right now, my mood is bored, thus the best songs are
either the fun ones or the ones that remind me of fun times.
-Because of having heard the song dozen of times, some songs from
Conspiracy or Ixnay may be biased (those are my first CD's, have heard em
at least 100 times)

From The O (The Offspring, 1st album)
Best: Thousand Days (God, I want a racing game with this song)
Wost: Ill be waiting

From Ignition
Best: Session, Hypodermic & Burn it Up (Couldnt decide, hah!)
Runner-up: Get it right(could be Best, but it could have used a
little more speed)
Worst: Dirty Magic (Ive heard its excellent when youre High *shrug*, too
slow for my taste, not fun either)

From Smash
Best: Self-esteem & come out and play (introduced me to The Offspring back in 96)
Bad Habit has great rythm, I like it too :D
Worst: what happened to you?

Best: All I want (Kick-@$$ song), Meaning of Life & Mota
Worst: Me & My Old Lady (Yawn, boring and wierd lyrics too)

Im not a big fan of the conspiracy of one album at all, I think it was a poor release, they could have released something so much better - but they didnt. Im not slagging offspring off or nothing, Offsprings been one of my favourite bands since the age of 8, when I saw them live with my Dad (my Dads a massive fan too - its quite embarrassing sometimes) but I feel they could have done something a bit better.

The only song I really can't listen to by the Offspring is Want you Bad. It's WAY too pop-punky. Pretty Fly is poppy, but not pop-punky. Pop-punk is like pop but with less instruments and usually less chords. ah okay, the guitarparts are indeed nice and catchy. I can understand people liking the song for that. For me lyrics make like 50% of the music (well at least in the rock/pop and punk genres)

Why Don't You Get A Job is one of the only songs by The Offspring which I just don't like. Especially at the end, where Dexter sings the last word ("Joooobbb"). Is it me, or does that part just really sound bad?

I think both Why don't you get a job and Want you bad are good songs. Actually, I've been slightly addicted to Want you bad lately. But it's true that it's better live. Well, to be honest, in some performances Dexter's voice sounds terrible, but as long as his voice is ok the song sounds really good live. I like the live sound of most songs. In fact, I'd like an album that had a bit of a live sound to it. Anyway.. What I'm trying to say is that I think Want you bad is a fun song.

I'm not a fan of the so-called "fun" songs. I just find them poppy and not very funny most of the time. Want You Bad, TWHE, and WDYGAJ are my least favorite songs.

Stick to the deeper, darker stuff. That's where The Offspring is really hard to beat.

I only have a few songs that i don't like by these guys. I don't really care for Pretty Fly, Why Don't you Get A Job, and Killboy Powerhead. I hate Da Hui and When Your In Prison. Other than those I pretty much love all the songs that have been released on the albums. The Offspring is my favorite band, it pretty good when there are only 6 songs out of 100+ that you don't care for.
