Do you think they made the right decision when they changed their name from Manic Subsidal to The Offspring? I mean Manic Subsidal is a pretty cool name for a band :)

Manic Subsidal sounds like something some silly high schoolers would come up with, which explains why it's their OLD name. The Offspring is infinitely better.

Manic Subsidal sounds good, but it sounds like a name of a harder band that's only around for a few albums. The Offspring has more of a lasting edge to it, or something like that.

I believe that Manic Subsidal was a good name, especially for them back then. The music they were putting out then was more of a grunge/punk sound, and the name definitely fit. Their choice to rename the band was also a good one because it might have caused a lot of press problems, especially with some people mistaking their name for "manic suicidal"... I also enjoy the name "The Offspring" but maybe that's just what i grew up with them being, and just name association is what I look for. But it really wouldnt matter to me what their name was because they are just my favorite band ever. They are sooo amazing and i hope one day to be able to meet these talented guys. Although they've gone softer than their older albums I will forever enjoy their music and well thought out, or just fun and stuff words. Their music has gotten me through sooooo much of my life.. I owe them more thanks then they could ever imagine. So who cares what their name is and who likes what best, as long as they continue to be a band and produce music for us, the fans, then all is well in the world.
