Nirvana.
and if you bite me, i'll bite back.
Aren't you supposed to answer "The Beatles" here?
Oh gee, I dunno. The greatness of Nirvana never opened for me, either.
I third Nirvana.
And dare to add Metallica.
I was going to say that, but luckily half their fanbase admits they suck. xD

Why oh why do some people still keep making them sound oh so glorious then?
I honestly wish they'd stop.

I'll definitely agree with Sublime, Nirvana and Metallica. Good choices.
Couple other bands that come to mind, but not as much... RATM, Sex Pistols...

It hurts to here Nirvana, but I agree with most of the others. Even the Beatles.
I wanna here more Sublime. Why the fuck is Brad Nowel considered a prophet?

Nobody could possibly be more overrated than the Beatles, but at least they DO deserve it.
So I'd have to say Sonic Youth here. Or Pavement, or Modest Mouse, or maybe Wilco.

I always wonder what all the fuss over Sonic Youth is about. I've always assumed that I just don't get it yet though.

regardless of whether or not the Rolling Stones were a better band, they wouldn't have existed had it not been for the Beatles. That being said, the Beatles have more good songs than the Stones, but the good songs the Stones have are much better than the songs the Beatles have (in my mind anyway). Paint it Black anyone?

Haha, funny, let's talk about *NSYNC like we're all tough and too cool to like pop music. Justin Timberlake is amazing, so shut your face.
Anyway, Nirvana, yeah, definitely. I'm actually surprised that it was already listed. Kurt Cobain killed himself, don't release best of material or box sets. Fin.
I'm gonna be original here:
Nirvana.

id say creed, i cant even comprehend how they sell cds. maybe the booklet is really pretty or something.. and i agree with nirvana, but i think they are rated so highly cos kurt was a heroine addict and popped himself. what a hero.

But there isn't any hype around Creed, therefore they cannot be overrated.

Weezer, Tool, Velvet Revolver, Nirvana, Metallica, The Strokes.
I kinda like Weezer and Tool and I love Nirvana, but they're all overrated, and some of them are horrible.

I'm going to second the fact that Weezer is not overrated. First off, I barely ever hear anything about them. In fact, I think people should talk MORE about Weezer. Second, the blue album and Pinkerton are really, really great albums. My opinion, anyway.

Pink Triangle is such a genious song.
