I bet I already know what happened. LM1565 is combining strikes they all got really recently for something petty, and strikes they got months and months ago, just so she can technically ban them. Can you say desperate? I will laugh so hard if I'm right about that.
I hope the power hungry mods find themselves in their 30's one day, still mods, and still arguing with people about how they are not overzealous, petty, and biased. And lame.
Man, I really care about this community. Should I report the mods who have told people to kill themselves about 100 times to administrator? What do you guys think?
Bighead, what you're describing in such derogatory terms as what you "know happened" is exactly how things go. The rules aren't that old here, and these users are much newer than the rules. Every other user who has been banned has gone through the exact same process, except we're discussing letting these come back. There's no "technically" about what happened -- they got three strikes, the three strikes triggered a vote on whether or not the users should be banned, and based on the results of that vote the appropriate punishment was handed out. Considering I wrote the rules because the admins asked me to -- and then they approved them, by the way -- I'm really surprised by how petty and lame you're being about it. And don't worry, you don't need to report those mods (or rather, mod, singular) since there's already been something done about that. Thanks for noticing how it hasn't happened in awhile.
No one is any happier because you banned those guys, and it didn't make this bbs any better than it was before. In fact, all it did was piss people off, and you started the same cycle up again unnecessarily. Were things running too smoothly lately for you or something? Bipolar and others have been positively contributing to a lot of threads lately, and this is how you and your BBS buddies repay them? By banning them for the most petty shit possible and tallying up the warnings from shit they did months ago? Whether you want to believe it or not, your job here is to run a DECENT, ACCEPTABLE message board. Nothing more. That's all the people of any real authority are interested in. Going above and beyond is cool too, but only if everyone who deserves it is happy. I really don't think that's happening in this case.

Bighead, considering only one of us in this conversation actually knows what the people who run this place are looking for, I think you're speaking out of turn. Of course you're going to make excuses for the rules they broke, since they share your vendetta against the moderators. That doesn't mean they didn't break rules, because they certainly did, and you're just mad that the consequences for their actions have come down. Part of a "decent, acceptable" message board is enforcing the rules we have in place. If you repeatedly and knowingly refuse to follow the rules, which are all pretty basic and easy to live with, it really shouldn't be a surprise that you wouldn't be welcome here. And again, we're discussing leniency for a few of them so thanks for noticing that, too. We had been much more lenient as moderators in years past, but last fall I was asked to become the head moderator and come up with some rules to make this place less Lord of the Flies and more of a positive community that is appropriate for how many very young fans the band has. dr.vanessa, as I've mentioned previously, the other moderators and I are discussing letting a couple of them back.

Admit it. No one in the entire world except you and a few other mods would be upset if the people who were banned were able to post again. In fact, more people would be happy. You can try to talk your way out of that with your technicalities and professional sounding bullshit(The Offspring BBS is SERIOUS business), but at the end of the day, you know it's true.
