Nice to hear this. I can't wait to get the album, i haven't even downloaded it, i want to wait until i get the actual CD in my hands. I only downloaded one song - Mind Eraser, No Chaser - because i wanted to see if it's overcompressed, and unfortunately it is the case. 5 db dynamic range. It sounds good, but imagine how it would sound if dynamic range would be better (i've experienced this first hand when mastering Semper Fi - the current 12 db dynamic range version sounds perfect, very lively, and 9 db range sounds dull and boring).
Still, if the songs are good i doubt it would really matter much, BGWTB by Alice in Chains is also too much compressed (6 db range), and SFTD is even more compressed (4 db), but those album are tied for the position of my favorite album of this decade.
Damn, when would the managers of the stores here finally learn about the existance of this band? Because i still haven't found their CD anywhere
Fuck. F-u-c-k. FUCK!!!!
Translation: went to 3 music stores today. Seems like they have no idea who Them Crooked Vultures are. Not a single copy of the album anywhere, and if i'm correct it was supposed to be released today here.
I don't know how much longer can i resist, i still haven't listened to more than a few seconds of each song. Is it really that good?
I listened only a few songs, but only a few seconds of each. I'll rather wait till i buy the album, don't want to ruin the surprise.
But so far i loved what i heard, this is going to be another kickass album released this year...
[headshaking mode on]
Well, from what i hear it sounds like a mixture of everything - Nirvana, QOTSA, Foo Fighters (features Grohl's vocals during the chorus) and a bit of Zeppelin too. It's middle-to-fast tempo, great song!
Not quite sure, i got a message from a friend yesterday, he told me he's going to play in Ljubljana. But it looks like it'll be solo. Anyway, i'm quite excited about it. It's not the first time he'll play in Slovenia, but i missed him when he played with QOTSA (one of the last if not THE last QOTSA gig with him - they played with a delay, because he dissapeared when they were in italy, the band couldn't find him and they left him there, which leaded to some bad blood) and later with Mondo generator
Just found this out: Nick Oliveri is performing in our capital city on the 13th november, the day before we play at some party.
I mean HOLY JAYSUS! I have to go to that gig...
I'm buying the album the day it comes out...
That was a teaser for our demo songs, which we (finally) plan to release soon. We just have to record vocals, but it's a bit hard to find the time for it
The sound quality of the tracks is excellent for a demo (we recorded those songs in the very same room you see in the video), we're really pleased with how good it all sounds (each song has about 1 possible clipped sample, compared to Death Magnetic songs where there are over 42.000 clipped samples), so i guess i did a good job with mixing and later mastering the tracks (adobe audition rocks ).
The video was put together by our drummer, he's really good with this stuff, and he included those scenes from trainspotting because of the message of Self-Destruction (the first song in the teaser; at the end of the teaser you can hear intro of Semper Fi, which is my favorite of our songs so far). And the live shots are from one of the parties at the drummer's place we played at, but the sound quality of those live recordings is quite bad
And the Strongbow.
Nervous breakdown time!
