Keep working on the songs, eventually you'll find a band and then it'll be very good for you to already have some ideas or a few whole songs. Makes things easier later, you would already have some basis to work on with the band

My exam was hard too. 3 questions, but each answer had to be in the form of a short essay. I didn't know much, there was too much information in the book i read so i forgot or mixed up most of them. I've written what i knew about the questions, and made up the rest (and i took some really wild guesses ). That's a golden rule: if you don't know, just make up something...

You should hear what i have come up with now... If you liked the 3 songs we've released, you're gonna love this one when it's finished. It's so fucking powerfull and even more energetic than what you have heard.

I've finished studying, i can't take it anymore. I can't even stay focused. Eh, whatever will happen will happen, i hope i'll do good and pass the exam

Yep, just the rght time to study, 1.30 AM . I had more than enough studying for today, i stopped after i started hallucinating and forgetting words (read two words and when i came to the third word i forgot the two i just read...)

Now i gotta get some sleep. Good luck with your exam by the way

Hey thanks, i appreciate your opinion!

Dexter has an amazing voice, one of my favorite vocalists. He has an unique voice that's impossible to miss. I imagine he would sing Self-Destruction perfectly, that song is really hard to sing, but our guitarist/vocalist did a good job when we were recording it, especially if you consider he sang it for the first time (i sang it before, but his voice is more suitable for lead vocals than mine). I mainly do the backing vocals, i only sing a bit more in Struggle, where i sing the half of verses (the distorted vocals are mine), backing vocals during the chorus and i also sing in that quiet part with only one guitar. Maybe i sound a bit like Lindberg (at our live shows i sing lead vocals when we play Pennywise's Yesterdays, it suits me well )

Anyway, i tend to put at least one melodic riff in every song, or some sort of a hook. I usually just mess around with my guitar, and the best things come up that way. i have some even more melodic ideas.

Most of our songs will be faster, punk songs, and there'll be an occasional slower, grungier song here and there (maybe one or 2 but not more per album), to make things more interesting.

I'm glad you like the songs

Hehe, sure thing, because our songs are supposed to be listened loud - the louder you listen them, the better. I've mixed them quieter than usual for todays standards, because i wanted to avoid the loudness war thing (just type in google Death Magnetic loudness war and you'll see what it means), but with more dynamic sound. The songs are approximately as loud as something that would be recorded in the early ninties, early Offspring or Nirvana. BUT when you turn up the volume knob it sounds awesome (unlike Meatllica's Death Magnetic - turn up the volume and your head will explode and a few seconds later your speakers will explode too, it sounds terrible )

Good luck with finding the band members, although you have to have some luck. I did

I'm going to bed soon, it's 1:30 AM here now (i'm from Slovenia), and have to study tomorrow, i have an exam on tuesday.

I had quite a lot with finding the band members. I had looked for a band for about 3 years and last year in october my new roommate in my dorm told me his schoolmate plays drums. We met at some party, the drummer was interested, and he also knew other people who would be interested - his younger brother plays bass and he and drummer had played together with our 4th member (lead vocals/guitar) before i met them, but nothing came up from that project, they didn't have enough time. That was quite a while before this new band (The Redestructed) was formed (when i came along ). I got all needed members in a matter of months, the drummer just asked his brother and the guitarist if they wanted to form a new band, and it all began. They liked my ideas right away, so i became the main songwriter. I also play lead guitar/backing vocals.

I hope you'll like the songs, although those on youtube aren't final CD versions (we'll make CD copies of our demo too, but only a few copies), the CD versions will have a bit louder vocals, they're just too quiet on youtube. ANd the sound is of course much better quality than youtube

The songs are quite different - Self-Destruction is offspring-ish, Struggle of Our Days is... well... a mixture of influences, but doesn't really remind me of any band. It's fast though (but we have faster than that too) . And Semper Fi is a grunge song, a bit slower than the other two, but with a very loud and angry chorus.

I'll reply here to your last post, i don't want to derail that thread too much

Anyway, it is a good sign, i agree, and our drummer is really talented. He can play very fast, in fact before some of our gigs we had to remind him to play a bit slower, because we weren't able to keep up when playing certain songs (when we were playing Million Miles Away he played it quite faster than song originally is, and palm muting became impossible if you wanted to do it the right way, that is only down). But on some of our yet un-recorded songs his speed will come very handy, as we have some really fast stuff (one song is almost hardcore punk, insane tempo + frequent changes in guitar strumming patterns, but despite being so fast it's still around 2.30 minutes long or so, you need a lot of energy for it )
  9. Yeah, but not every day for 14 years, lol. I'm really out of practice at the moment. I don't have the stamina for drumming that I used to have. I got lazy!
  10. Haha, same here. I love to sing but I'm pretty awful at it, so I only do it when no one else is around
I started playing drums, guitar and bass when I was 11, in music class. I loved drums so they became my main instrument. I don't play as often now but still love it. I actually remember trying to play along to NOFX songs when I was about 13 or 14. Needless to say, it didn't go too well, haha.
Trumpet and keyboard both sound like good choices for something to learn. I'd definitely pick one of those, or saxophone!
