What does "ixnay" really mean?

I've been wondering for a while now.

IMO, "Ixnay on the Hombre" is like the "Negation of mankind"... mmmh, well, read this other thread, and maybe you'll understand it better :p

I thought 'ixnay' meant a 'don't talk about it/shut up about that subject' type thing. Not in the Oxford English dictionary anyway...

I always thought it was pig latin for something.

Ixnay means "insult." Hombre means literally "man," but generally means "the authority." So it means "fuck the adminstration."

shut up, I just wanted to know if "the administration" found out. no big deal.

in an interview dexter and noodles said that ixnay on the hombre means LEAVE THE MAN or FUCK THE MAN
