Free? is right, the song is pretty damn catchy. I love the basic riff. The lead guitar and the drums are very good, too. Basically this song has a cool atmosphere and the instruments fit in perfectly which makes it even cooler. Great job!

Hey, glad both you guys like it!
Yeah, it was kind of a sweet result that came out of an otherwise crappy day. I particularly like what I did with the tribal-y drums (though maybe I should have left the cowbell out of it).
UPDATE.
I finished the song I was originally going to do for the BBS Musical. Since that fell through I retweaked it and recorded this, called Run Away.
A little bit of buzz on the vocal tracks - I am sorry. I tried to get rid of it, it was all gone when I finished in the program and then in the conversion it came back. It's not bad, I just personally notice and it grates on me.
In any case, it's still got probably one of the coolest moments in any song of mine, from 1:37 to 1:41. I know, it's a short moment but I honestly think it's pretty cool.

I hope you all enjoy it.
Once again, I like it! Your songs always have some special vibe which makes them pretty unique-sounding. Also, you are good at adding other instruments like the piano to a song and making them fit in perfectly.
I'm glad you liked it! Originally there was another jangly piano bit with just kind of ended up jarring with the beat, so I scrapped it. Pretty glad I did.
I do love putting piano and strings into songs - I feel it increases the range of feeling and depth the song has, especially if you do a little something different with every instrument so each song becomes sort of a multi-leveled tapestry of sound. Well, that's the goal, anyway - actually pulling it off is much more difficult.
I realized I forgot to post the lyrics. So here they are.
Quote:
There is no way in hell
That we will let this happen again
Once is enough, twice is too much
Walk away while you still can
Do as we say or we'll do what we do best
Oh...
When we catch up with you
There'll be nothing left
Go Home
Now we are telling you to get away from here
Now we are telling you to run away from here
And don't come back for her
And don't come back for her
And don't come back for her
If I ever see your face again
I'll kill you, I swear.
When we find you, when find you we do.
Oh...
So, I was getting kind of lost in playing a lot of similar riffs on the guitar, and I didn't want to put out something that sounded EXACTLY like some of my other songs, so I decided to take out the regular synth-strings and piano that I use, and just got a standard rock song.
As for lyrics, I ended up exploring the idea of middle-class paranoia. Moving away to suburbs and gated communities, refusing to let your kids play outside and feeling the need to control their movement, thus denying them personal sovereignty - it's symptomatic of a culture which fears the unknown, and so gravitates naturally to controllable homogeneous environments.
Of course, that's a load to try and put into a song, so I tried to simplify it into a simple perspective, with as few words as possible.
Here are the lyrics.
And here are the links. The mp3.com.au one will lead you to a streaming version, and the megaupload one will allow you to download the song.Quote:
Who's that
Walking down my street
Where are my children
Will they listen to me?
I...
I live on Fear Street
Noises keeping me awake at night
Whatever's out there's got an appetite.
I...
I live on Fear Street

... man, nobody?
Just too bad.
Fear Street is a nice and straight-forward song. The guitar solo is great... actually the entire guitar is very good (as usual in your songs).
Also, I always admire your guitar sound which is just... admirable:)
Wow, totally didn't see this until now.
All of this. And allow me to say, I am glad that you started singing again. Vocals are superb, spot-on the entire song. Also, this is not coming from a songwriting standpoint, but I sorta wish there were more verses, like short interjections followed by choruses. I can really feel the mood of the song from the few you have already. Nicely done.
T does some bits of metal and horror punk. ;] I love the vocal parts and I do enjoy the song much!
