I don't pity them at all. It's their own fault they bought into this, now they have to deal with consequences.

Ok folks, I think I have the answer. The Maya people didn't predict apocalypse at all, they predicted something else:
Quote:
The video, which contains satirical lyrics about the habits of wealthy South Koreans and features choreography mimicking horse riding, passed 1 billion views on Dec. 21, just over five months after debuting, YouTube said on its official blogpost. The video had 1.004 billion views as of 8:57 a.m. in Seoul. “Gangnam Style” passed Justin Bieber’s “Baby” on Nov. 24, to become the most-viewed on YouTube.
Those people are dumbasses. There is nothing in the cosmos that could have been predicted that would alter the Earth's orbit or axial tilt or even cause a wobble of the tilt angle. That's what stabilizes our climate, as well as the moon to slow the Earth's rotation and cause tides. Yes, there are other things that influence Earth's climate, too.
It was a mighty fine day, thanks for asking. We put up all our Christmas stuff and settled down to some epic Minecraft. Then I had a good session of CoD, which sadly did not drive to the point of shooting children. Sorry Obama.
Now, I'll give it until Christmas day. If civilization doesn't end, then I will formally concede defeat on this Doom thing. But I was convinced. And even if it isn't a rogue planet that destroys civilization, how long can we keep on this path? When we run out of water, it will be too late to change. I say that the Apocalypse is a good time for us to count our blessings, listen to some gothic Israeli noël music, and make a concious effort to keep our planet going. Thank you.
Well, advances in technology are making people stupid and lazy, and we are consuming non-renewable resources at a rate exponential to the rate they are replenished. Advances in medicine are keeping people alive a lot longer than nature intended and is saving the lives of babies and mothers that would perish in a non-technological world. Not that it's wrong, but it's extremely taxing on food, water, and material resources. Humans are creating their own apocalypse and, guess what, it can't be stopped. Humans are too intelligent and greedy for the planet's good.
By the way, I'm glad you had a great day! ^,^
I'm just waiting for the Zombie Apocalypse to happen.
When is that "supposed" to happen?
