Yeah.. That's true.

I'm with bighead. I would never post just to tell someone I thought something they said was funny or interesting. Don't know why. But over the years, a few people have lamented that they've always felt underappreciated/invisible/whatever. Those are usually the people I admire the most (T-6005 and harleyquiiin come to mind). With a "like" button, they might know just how obsessed with them I am.
Randy, you are a man of few words. I imagine something like a 'like' button would give you more of a voice, so to speak.

Yep, could we? ;)
Tijs, I think it would be fun to installed a LIKE button. I guess it won't be as annoying nor irritating after all. Sorry. :o
I post on a different internet forum that has like buttons, and a post that gets enough likes (ten or more) gets a little star next to it. Personally, I like it that way. Generally speaking, I only click "like" on a post when I've read and understand/agree with the point the poster was trying to make, but don't really have anything of value to add to the discussion.
Also -- and I might be wrong here -- but I feel like a "like" feature might cut down on thread necromancy too ("liking" a post instead of bumping to say you agree or whatever).
I know I resurrected a dead Greg K thread, but it died again just as quickly, haha.
I'm starting to come around. You are have brought up some good points about having a like button, as long as people don't misuse it. I still think it should be a rock/rock on button.
P.S. Getting fucked by a bear is deadlier, 'xilla.
