My sister, husband and I all got the flu from someone at the haunted house we work at. It was the first time I had ever caught it. It wasn't the death knell that I had been hearing about.
Yeah, it's not all it's hyped up to be. I got over it in about 10 days and only half were spent suffering worse than a cold. Cough and slight fever are all that's left.
You know I think the flu doesn't work the same on everyone and also, there are different types of flu. I had one in october and seriously believed I was going to die for 2 days (probably because I couldn't think right, though...). So, ok, it's just 2 days. But 2 horrible days.
Okay, you're right. I'm sorry. I just have a notoriously tough immune system. >,<
I'm glad you are better now. :)
I got the swine flu last year, and holy Jesus, it was one of the worst weeks of my life, especially seen as my period decided to start and a wisdom tooth that was coming up decided to get infected. So I was a shivering, sweating, cramping, painful mess. And I had to go to Budapest a few days after I got it.
I think the worst bit about flus is being up all night, in a half dreamlike state, either sweating do much that you've soaked all around you, or shivering so much that it hurts.
Fortunately by the time I went to Budapest I was pretty much recovered, and just tired from lack of sleep, and in severe pain from my tooth.
Due to the cancer, I have no immune system, so I have gotten the flu 3 times in the last few months. Fucking sucks. I just want to be healthy again. Live my life to the fullest, enjoying it; not laying in a bed feeling like shit watching netflix. I want to be having fun again, party with my friends, go shopping.
But you still have your weed, right?
I do not think that word means what you think it means.
The last time I got the stomach flu was when I was 11... but I think I had some other kind of flu in college. I don't think I've got the flu in the last 6 years, though. I catch a few colds every winter, but nothing worse. I can't really speak for how bad the flu is anymore - it wasn't that bad in college, but I'm a bit older now and even colds are rougher now than they were in college.
