Sounds like a bunch of static.
As an Offspring fan, sure this sounds like an awesome idea. However, I can't imagine your average bar scene being thirsty for an entire set of Offspring covers. Most people won't know a lot of the...
Session, 1993. Friend's brother gave me a copy of Ignition on cassette. Never looked back!
Thanks, great picture quality. Horrible sound though.
Do you really expect everybody on an Offspring BB (or any message board on the internet for that matter) to understand the intricacies of the English language? If so, maybe you should be the one...
Do you have reasoning behind this?
Good find. Thanks for sharing.
Have You Ever is a truly great song, and I agree that it should be played ... as it usually is at their shows. My take on it's absence this year is that it is a fairly long song, and leaving it out...
Will be cool for the live tracks ... otherwise it doesn't seem like anything special.
Live: Hammerstein Ballroom - New York City, New York (9:35 PM - 10:42 PM, June 1st, 2004)
I was at this show so I would love a recording of it!
I feel your pain. This post has been up for a while: http://www.offspring.com/forums/showthread.php?t=42147
I used to listen to Self-Titled before my 8th grade basketball games :D
It is useless and childish to argue over BBS "status," or to use it as a reason to boast. It is not. I've frequented The Offspring BBS since '97 or '98 so that probably makes me one of the oldest...
I would say this is true for any concert, not at all unique to NY crowds. The point here would be that the vast majority of fans would rather stay in the parking lot playing drinking games than see...
It is more than likely true that they did not plan on playing Ignition material on a large-scale Amphitheater tour with 311 ... until they noticed their hardcore fans were there ... yet few & far...
They might as well .... here's what happened. They realized that 90% of the people at the show didn't know most of their songs anyway, so they might as well play an old song and please the few true...
Good for you bud, things will someday change but never forget what this great band has done for you.
Interesting replies ... they both confirm my frustration and bring up points I have pondered myself. I've never questioned 311's status ... I was a youngster throughout the 90's and grew up around...
Right on, I'm tattooed as well. What do you have? I got the Co1 skull about 8 years ago .... damn makin me feel old haha.
Warning to concert-goers: Last night I saw a 311 concert; featuring Pepper and The Offspring.
First of all, The Offspring sounded amazing and were great as usual. However, they were not given...
Paid vacation = I'm allowed to forget it for a while, but thanks for looking out.
Checklist for tomorrow:
Offspring tickets: Check
Full tank of gas: Check
Hotel Reservations: Check
30-Pack of beer: Check
If you wish to engage in this behavior at a show and not get kicked out there are still plenty of underground bands/shows that play at venues allowing it. The Offspring are no longer one of those...
There's obviously two sides to this argument. Yes, it's a rock concert and this stuff is supposed to (and should) happen! However, keep in mind it is 2010 and rock shows aren't what they used to...
Does anyone have the entire June 2004 NYC show on mp3? I was at this show, had a copy on CD but can't seem to find it. Would greatly appreciate if someone could post it.
Thanks!
