Could you please explain the banning policy?

I need a little bit of light to be brought into this. I'm basically just copying a report I've just made but that's beside the point.

I don't exactly understand your banning policy. I know it's usually pornographic or offensive content. And there have been a few relatively respectable members banned out of the named reasons because they were being offensive often without a serious intention.

Anyway, but what about spamming and flooding? This LOdAt person has been flooding the forums extremely with annoying posts for weeks and always getting away with it. And on the other hand people who flame other members because they actually have a real reason to do so get banned because someone keeps on reporting them. Seriously.

I'm not even going to suggest IP bans. They'd help a lot maybe, especially with the spammers. But I'm not sure how any banning would remain completely objective. Especially after someone keeps reporting someone else just to get them banned because they have a problem with them.

Also what will be the role of moderators in this? Do they get to suggest bans?

I know, bladdy ridiculous. Although TTiG has said it all. IP banning I don't think is possible... is it? Apparently it isn't for forgotten reasons... And what's gonna stop a spammer using a different PC?

I think IP banning is a bad idea, because some people who didn't deserve to be banned were.

I still don't know why TTiG is banned. He didn't flood, and as far as I can tell he was banned because people asked him to be. When will this stop? Can we go around reporting anyone we want and they'll get banned simply because they were asked to be? As far as I can tell TTiG never recieved an official reason, either.

I wouldn't mind if there was a little consistency. LoDat spams, and he hasn't been banned. Wishomie posts what could be described as pornographic and could be offensive. Yet his new account has not been banned. And yet TTiG was. Why?

What Will A Moderator Do?
A moderator will be able to remove postings and threads and suggest users to be banned to the administrators. Moderators will be instructed that only posts, threads and users which include the following can be removed or banned.

1) Private Information - The band's or anyone else's
2) Pornography/Graphic Images - We have visitors of all ages and we'd like to keep it that way
