"Pop" is 'popular' for short, but it's turned into a music genre, also.

So, yes, technically all magazines are pop magazines because they discuss things that are...well...popular.

So don't read them. In the music industry, exposure is what sells records. If they don't get the exposure, sales would radically drop. And The Offspring were in pop magazines not that long ago.
