I really have doubts that "Hammerhead" will chart as high as other singles...the song ain't "mainstream" enough, plus the modern rock tracks has too much competition at the top right now...Weezer, The Raconteurs, Foo Fighters, Seether. Just too much right now.

It's really moving up fast, though. It debuted at number 41 and it's already up to 26. If someone else wrote this same song, or even if it weren't Offspring's first single from the album, I don't think it would be played enough to have time to "catch on". But I think since it's The Offspring's first single in four years, large amounts of people will hear it often enough in the next two weeks to develop a liking for it, and it will take off from there. I'd say it'll make somewhere between 5-8.

Its doing well in L.A. and San Diego. I hear all the time. But yeah I dont think there is that much competition, no more than usual.
