THE OFFSPRING - Dexter: Yep for sure. We calculated, connived, and cheated

our way to where we are now. It was perfectly orchestrated.

THE OFFSPRING - Dexter: Hendrix, but Buckethead blows both of them away.

THE OFFSPRING - Dexter: Yeah, we did about two years ago, it was for a movie

soundtrack, Idle Hands.

THE OFFSPRING - Dexter: It's real. We told them we wanted to give away $1,000 but

someone got it mixed up. And now we're stuck.

That album was the raddest!

THE OFFSPRING - Dexter: Thanks, we're glad you like that record. We do still play

songs off of Ignition. Usually "Session" or "Kick Him When He's Down."

Klyn: So, my boyfriend is obsessed with The Offspring. He eats, breathes, and sleeps

you guys, which is fine, except I'm not getting laid. Any suggestions?

with them.

Offspring_Detroit: What is your favorite band of all time?

THE OFFSPRING - Dexter: The Chipmunks. Or Miami Sound Machine. We were

supposed to do a song with Gloria Estefan, but those assholes in N Sync beat us to her.

Offspring1: What bands did you guys grow up listening too?

THE OFFSPRING - Dexter: We listened to lots of cool bands like the Dickies,

Sex Pistols, Ramones, TSOL, Adolescents, Dead Kennedys, Descendents, Black Flag...

RPM: I use the line, "I look like Dexter" to get chicks.

THE OFFSPRING - Dexter: You better think of a new line, dude.

offspringfreak: Did the Beastie Boys have any influence on you guys?

around the world with you Dexter ?

Offspring_Live says: Atom's been great. He's an awesome drummer and a good guy. We'll be taking him on all of our touring this next year.

Offspring_Live says: You know, it's always the last record you do that tends to be your favorite. So I'd say this one.

Offspring_Live says: We actually hate each other.

Trishgt1 in Onstage_1 asks: After you have sold so many millions of cd's. what gives you that extra "Buzz" to do another CD?

Offspring_Live says: We really love what we do. I love making records and going on tour, playing shows for people. It's a blast.

Offspring_Live says: Favorite gig, wow, there's been a lot of good ones. We did a show in England called the Reading Festival last year that was really cool.

Offspring_Live says: In fact, it's that crowd that we used on our song Neocon.

xNeo182x in Onstage_1 asks: What happened to naming the album "Chinese Democracy You snooze you lose" ? And why did you choose Splinter as a new title for the

album? Neo_182

Offspring_Live says: Chinese Democracy was just a joke, that title wouldn't have had anything to do with our record.

We chose the title Splinter because I think musically and lyrically this record splinters off in different directions.

SRod28 in Onstage_1 asks: Is there any particular reason that many of your songs have cynical and sarcastic tones?

Offspring_Live says: I wouldn't say our stuff is cynical. Sarcastic, maybe. I suppose we have a dark sense of humor that comes out in our

songs sometimes.

kola57 in Onstage_1 asks: What is your favorite track on the new album

Offspring_Live says: I like The Noose a lot. I also like Can't Get My Head Around You a lot. So I'd probably say it's between those two.

Offspring_Live says: What do you mean? Dexter is my real name.

Offspring_Live says: Well thanks, I'm glad to hear you like our new record. We play the UK every time we put out a record, and Manchester's usually on the list of

cities we play,

so we'll probably be in your neighborhood.

Hogleg333 in Onstage_1 asks: What has been your favorite location to surf?

Offspring_Live says: Well I mostly go in Southern California, that's where we're from, so I'd have to say San Clemente, like Trestles, and Lowers.

We've surfed in Australia too, at Margaret River, which was also very cool.

Dish_Diva says: Guys, from Russia to Puerto Rico from Argentina to Alaska everyone is just "dying" to meet you and hear your music. So can you give us a general run

where you will be next performing. Your fans LOVE you !!!!

Offspring_Live says: Well, we try to go to as many places as we can. We'll be in Europe in February I think, and then all over the US after that. We'll also be touring

in Japan and Australia.

CruelestDream_Reality in Onstage_1 asks: Do you guys have any music from before you first release that fans could get their hands on?

Offspring_Live says: We did a 7" record ourselves before our first album. It just has two songs on it and we only pressed 1,000, that's all we could afford. It's called

"I'll Be Waiting", and there's copies out there.

Frozen_Dragon_G in Onstage_1 asks: who chooses the covers for your cds? They are soooooo cool

Offspring_Live says: Thanks. We do the covers ourselves. We come up with an idea, or hit up an artist that we like a lot. Alan Forbes did our last record Conspiracy of

One, he's a great artist. This time we picked Storm Thorgerson to do the cover. He's done all kinds of classic record covers, everything from Pink Floyd to Audioslave.

Bassballplayer12 in Onstage_1 asks: DEXTER, YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST BAND EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do you have any plans for a CD after Splinter ?

Offspring_Live says: Gee, we just finished this one! We're gonna do some touring and then think about writing some more stuff. I'm sure we'll do another record.

Offspring_Live says: We made a deal with Satan, that's how it sounds so good. We're gonna be sorry later.

Offspring_Live says: I think there's definitely some good new bands out there. I listen to some of it, I like how there's always someone out there mixing it up.
