Noticing how we have people from so many different countries and cultures here (many of which I haven't a clue where to find on a map), I thought this would be a neat idea.
Different people in different places is one of my favorite things to learn about, and I'm broke and can't travel, so this is the closest to a first-hand experience I'm gonna get.
Post a map of where you're from, and any other pictures that you feel are relevant to describe where you live and the culture there.
I'll start
I'm the AZ there on the lower left.
My town, Buckeye, is a little less than an hour west of Phoenix
Lately, we're mostly only known for the new clusterfuck of cookie-cutter houses in the northern area of our town, called "Sundance". I used to live there, but right now I live in the downtown area, which has an old-town feel to it. I think it's neat.
This is just a liquor store that's existed for as long as I can remember, I can't find any pictures of anything else. This is in walking distance from where I live. Basically, this entire area is little family-owned shops that have been here for years and years. There's a lot of Hispanics here, so a lot of the stores here have Mexican specialty foods and CANDY! I'm a HUGE fan of spicy tamarind Mexican candy. SOOOO good.
I've lived here for about 10 years (I've lived in a couple other towns last year, but came back here) and it has grown so much, it's unbelievable. Mostly because of the Sundance clusterfuck, everyone from every state you could possibly think of is moving here. But they all stay up in Sundance, and I'm pretty sure a lot of them don't even know Historic Downtown Buckeye exists.
