Can you drive? Can you go to another town to do your CD shopping? Giving your money to Walmart only encourages and helps them build on the monopoly they've got in a lot of towns. There's a reason that's the only place you can buy CDs...

Exactly what I was going to say. I love the funny songs, especially when it's done so well. I don't care if they have another monster hit like that again, but the description of "kind of like Pretty Fly, but not really" is pretty interesting. I would describe SIMU that way, but I'm expecting something even more different.

I never liked either of those songs. 14-year-old me first heard Why Don't You Get a Job? (which is much, much more tolerable for me than the other two), bought the album on a whim cause I couldn't find the Dixie Chicks (lololol), and fell in love with songs like Have You Ever, Staring at the Sun, Americana, and Pay the Man. I never loved any of their dumb singles.

I'm *pretty* darn sure we're the same age... I just didn't actually realize that music was awesome until I was 13. Oh well, I made up for it by obsessing over music once I caught on

Ditto. I used to think music sucked, but that's just cuz I grew up listening to country music. Once I realized all music didn't suck, I've kind of obsessed ever since.

For me, it was just because I was the complete opposite of "cool" in every way imaginable. I distinctly remember a time when I was 10, when one of the most popular girls in my grade asked me what my favorite song was. I seriously said it was "Can You Feel the Love Tonight?" from the Lion King. She kind of laughed and asked me if I liked any good songs, like "Rape Me". I'd never heard of it, but I got really shocked and said, "Do you even know what 'rape' means??" She didn't. I was appalled and couldn't believe my peers were listening to songs about rape. Hahahaha.

Though that wasn't as bad as when I was 11, one of my friends (equally cool) was asked if she liked Smashing Pumpkins. Her response: "No, I don't do that kind of thing."
