Last movie i saw pt2

For my thesis I'm doing a chapter on film adaptations of Beowulf with special focus on Grendel's Mother, so I've started studying...by watching films, yay!

Last night I watched The 13th Warrior, an adaption of Michael Cricthon's Eaters of the Dead, which is in turn an adaptation of Beowulf. It was pretty okay I guess. Nothing special though.

This morning I watched Beowulf and Grendel. I liked this more - stayed closer to the original storyline and stuff, and had a better, more complex plot, and more complex characters.

Not enough Grendel's Mother in either of them though.

Underworld: Awakening


This one had a lot of potential that went completely to waste. My brother and I were both watching it and when it ended, we both went, "It's already over?"

I feel like they could have added a bit more plot and another half hour to the movie and it would have been really good, but instead it was just over an hour of mindless, gory violence, which I normally wouldn't mind if the previous installments hasn't had so much emphasis on the plot and backstory of the characters.

Overall, I feel as though they just didn't try to hard with this movie compared to the previous installments in the series.

21 Jump Street 8/10
Everything I expect from a good comedy, but there's so few of them out there (fuck you Hangover Part 2, you can't do the same movie all over again and then call it a sequel), this one is damn near perfect for me.

Avengers Assemble - 5/10 Entertaining, but over long and some ropey cgi. I must be one in a million with that, i know.

Plot holes be dammed the only thing I cared about was the action and the one liners and this movien delivered on both accounts. It even managed to make the Hulk seem interesting on the big screen, which was surprising.

Weak. The acting was pretty flat - not to mention the storyline ... Expected a lot more. TV show was much better

Watched it today. Thought it was "ok". Tommy Lee Jones was great (as usual ), Michael Stuhlbarg too. Liked how they made this connection between K and J.
