The people signing this petition, men and women from the country of Mexico; requesting to the United Nation's Department of political Affairs, through its Electoral Assistance Division, the following:
The intervention of a committee to inspect and ensure the legality and transparency of the elections to be held on July 1, 2012 in Mexico.
The citizens of this country are witnessing a process of election campaigns, whose display in the mass media does not match what is seen, heard, and lived every day in cities, towns, villages and streets of our Mexico . There are half-truths, truths disguised, sometimes hidden or forcibly disappeared. This planted in us the fear that there is a manipulation on the outcome of the elections to happen next.
We do not want to live in the same environment of 2006, when it was spoken of an "alleged" voter fraud. We have the right of international institutions to have access to information and the electoral mechanism for attesting to the existence of a true democracy in our society.
