Ive been boucing a Marshall and hughes & kettner around. Cant decide wich one im gunna get. What do you think of the quality and tone?

though i didnt know it when i bought it, the amp had some dry joints and was crackling at high volumes (dry joints are crappily soldered joints on the amp). the warranty repairer fixed em up and now its good as gold.Originally Posted by Fej87
its pretty sturdy.
as for tone, its more than sufficient more me. great crunch sound, as well as some awsome cleans and that old school british tone.
as for the offspring sound, you just scoop the mids and crank everything else. i have mids at 0, treble at 10 and bass at 7.
It comes down to personal preference obviously. Some people might prefer a little more high end, but i like it. my amp is an edition blue 60 r. another awesome h&k amp ive heard is a matrix 100 combo. they sound fantastic great.
long story short, the amp is very versatlile, and it nails the typical punk/metal sound.
