I used butter when I was a kid. It's too salty now. If Noodles and his son, some BBS'ers, and the customers at my store like artichokes, maybe I'll try one.

I've never eaten an artichoke but I just asked my mum to get some.
She said "But I don't know what you're supposed to do with it."
I don't understand her... she's strange.
I remember seeing an artichoke in a gardening center and I wanted to buy it because I wanted to grow a plant and that one looked funny :P
Why don't you get some Gringo Bandito and dip it in that?

Huh? I eat it all the time - I have a couple Israeli friends here who put every single hummus I've had in life before I met them to shame. Every holiday or party I get to indulge in fresh, homemade Israeli hummus - and my taste buds are fine!
Man, now I'm super hungry... wish I had chick peas lying around!

I'm sorry, Noodles, but your son is correct. Mayonnaise is too viscous to quickly and efficiently cover every bit of the artichoke leaf before you put it in your mouth. You also need a bit of salt to get the bitterness out.
And Llamas, I'm also sorry but you are nuts. Hummus is delicious but not an acceptable dip for artichoke leaves.
I've only ever eaten artichokes in salads. I would never think to just dip the leaves in stuff and eat them by themselves.
