Cause I’m in a desperate need of suggestions……
That's a personal thing, I can study pretty much anywhere and anytime (although I'm better in the mornings and in my own chair, wee), whereas Ken needs complete silence (but at home, the library irritates him), and studies better at night.

i used to be able to concentrate perfectly during the night, listening to some low-volume chill-out music.....didn't work last night, nor the night before....

Different for everybody. I NEED a mess around me when I study. Other people need neat environment. Order seems to disturb me when I study.
Also depends on what learning type you are. Visual? (highlight stuff) Auditive? (you read out loud) Kinesthetic? (you walk around)

That's because after three or four days of studying your concentration span totally drops. Don't worry. You can't do anything about it but relax for a while and take your mind off studying. Then eventually come back to it.

it changes person to person but a silent room always works, the important thing is be concentrated.

Ignore your mother who is constantly bitching at you. Listen to The Offspring on your iPod. Well, at least that's what I do.

I don't study. I do worse if I do. However, when I do homework, the only thing I need is my iPod or CD player, whichever one's closer.

Well, I don't "study" per se, due to the nature of most of my work... but I need a lot of room (big big desk), a lot of artificial light, fresh air, and music blasting. I second the iPod comments.
it works for me. might not work for you.

Music with lyrics pisses the hell out of me when I'm trying to work - classical music is ok, sometimes, though.

When I have to memorize stuff, yeah, it can be distracting. When I'm doing other work, though.. it helps.

i've honestly never studied before, so i can't really say.
i *need* a tidy environment, silence (especially no tv or music or anything as that is as distracting) and i need to have the security that i have done everything else, because i get distracted really easily, and knowing that i havent checked my email for the whole day can bother me a whole lot o.0
and i can only concentrate on things like that until around 18:00. anything beyond that is impossible for me.
thus, studying sucks for me.

My room.
the door has a lock to maximize privacy, there's a fan so its not too hot, the laptop is there for research and there's always the sound system if one needs to unwind. (the only fault is in the current state of it.... need i say anymore?)
