View Full Version : Luciferion / Flegma - any recommendations?

I bought the Tribute To Metallica album, and although most o the songs had shitty screaming, a couple of screaming/souting songs I actually liked. One was Luciferion's cover of Fight Fire With Fire. Another was Flegma's version of The Thing That Should Not Be.

I still wonder though, are these bands any good? What songs should I download or albums even? I am actually mildly interested, and I want to see what is great about screaming metal bands, so I want to broaden my music taste to these particular bands.

I've never heard either of those bands, but generally speaking you can assume that they're not that good if they have to play on a tribute album to get publicity. Some good screaming bands (may or may not actually be metal)

Refused - Hardcore mixed with electronica. Download New Noise if you want to hear something by them.
Mr. Bungle - Only sometimes screaming metal (they really play a bit of everything.) Download Carry Stress in the Jaw.
Mastodon - Loud metal. Download Megalodon.
Blood Brothers - Slightly odd screaming hardcore. Get...I dunno...Ambulance Vs. Ambulance I guess.

OK cheers for the recommendations.

I dunno about the publicity thing as the compilation is quite rare - I got it second hand, and most people haven't heard of those bands anyway, apart from In Flames.

When you say scraming metal, do you mean death metal?

This goes for you too Jebus. Their Leviathan album is awesome, but I've never heard their earlier one.

Also, I'm willing to bet since it's a Metallica tribute, they're more screaming thrash metal than real death metal.

Spose so, but I tend to hate that stuff - I ust want to sample some of it i.e. from the two bands I mentioned.

I searched Luciferion on limeWiere but I only found one song called "Black FuneraL"

I liked it but it's not anything I haven't heard before. I did enjoy the intro though.
