Harry Potter is sixteen, he's not a fucking 10 year old anymore. Get your facts straight.

Ron hasn't died yet.

I don't know what to choose between 3 stars or 4 stars. I thought it was long sometimes in the middle of the book like there were no plot... I loved the beginning, though.

Vera

Yeah, the middle bit was boring.

Also...

SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS

I didn't like the Harry/Ginny romance much.. Also, I was disappointed that there was a lot of stuff that could've been shown but wasn't. Like Snape's lessons and all that. It was kind of weird.

Also, I still can't believe Snape is evil.

I was also disappointed by that. The only classes shown were almost only potions. I was sure I knew who the Half-Bood prince was and I was right.

MORE SPOILERS! THAT'S RIGHT, MORE SPOILERS!

I didn't like how the entire book was based around Harry being a dick about Malfoy and Ginny. There was too much angst, and not enough story. Usually, everything seems pointless until it all forms together at the end, but in this book, everything just seemed pointless. (Except of course the beginning and the end) The book seemed like it could be about 4 chapters. The 1st and 2nd remaining the same, the 3rd chapter summing up the school experience, the 4th being Dumbeldore's death. Also, the character's weren't acting normal. In Borgin and Burkes, when Hermione went in, she wouldn't have acted that stupid in the other books. Also, I felt like Ginny wasn't acting normal, I can't put my finger on how, but I could sense some weird difference.

END SPOILERS

I give it 3 stars, I hope the next book really brings all the loose ends together.

Vera

SPOILERS CONTINUE!

I don't know, I just saw it as a thing Hermione didn't think through properly. It has happened before.

Ginny was kind of annoying. She made a few really bitchy comments that turned me off her character a lot. It was like, WTF.

I think this book had some really good stuff, the back story was delicious and I love what it ended with, not the death part but the Horcrux part - makes the next book really interesting to read. Then again, overall it was rather disappointing.

MORE SPOILERS
I feel like the horcrux thing was just a ploy to get people to read the next one. It worked extremely well. It was really disappointing to find out that Dumbledore died trying to get a horcrux that had already been taken. I mean that in the sense that if Dumbledore hadn't gone for the horcrux, he would've been able enough to kill off all the Death Eaters himself. I must agree though, the whole penseive thing was really cool, and how it all intertwines was great. I don't know, I wish that it connected more with what happened in previous years. The book was a dissapointment, but that doesn't change the fact that it was great.

That joke (and believe me I hesitate to use the word) only works if you speak with an American accent. And it's still not remotely funny. And "shave" does not need to be capitalized.

Shakespeare and Dickens have terrific characters in their works, but they are far too heavy for light reading. Classics tend to be dull and boring (in my experience), so I tend to avoid them. Plus, Paint It Black already knows that I rarely read anything other than Pratchett, who (in my opinion at the very least) is far, far superior to Rowling and most writers you find now.

PS: Gormenghast rules.

I'll admit to being hooked for a long time. I must have re-read the fourth book fifty times, and who knows about the others. But I gradually lost interest soon after reading the fifth book, and I didn't even contemplate getting the sixth one. It's a good childrens book, but that's really all it is.
