View Full Version : Effects Pedals
For all guitarists, ive been wanting to buy another effects pedal to add to my small collection. So far i have a Morley Bad Horsie wah pedal and Uber Metal distortion from line 6. What are some good chorus and delay pedals?
Also just discuss different pedals here, (what sucks, what kicks ass)

BOSS DS-1 Distortion kicks ass. Digital effects suck. BOSS CE-5 Chorus is great.
Ok so ive heard from 2 people that boss chorus is teh shit. Does anybody know of any places where i can hear samples from, if not ill probably just go down to the local guitar center and test it out.

What's the best kind of wah pedal? I want one, I was thinking of getting the CryBaby Original. I don't want to spend too much money, I just need something that will work.
crybay's are usually good, but when i was deciding about wah i went with Morely. Cryabys didnt apeal to me that much. They were also kind of expensive, so i went with the morely, its pretty nice.

An audio cable.
->A good one, to make it $40, mind you.
Does anybody here actually own a boss chorus pedal? I am deciding between the super chorus and the chorus ensamble.

the punkifier gives the guitar a vintage 70's garage punk sound, for example "you're bleeding" by nofx
Super chorus is better than the CE-5 in my opinion
a little more versatile and i like its sound better
also Digitech makes a good Digi Delay pedal
the boss DS-1 is pretty good but doesnt get thick enough for me
i like the Digitech X-Series metal master or distortion factory and add in a Boss octave pedal and your ready to blow out some amps and make male fish pregnant

I think the Chorus Enseble would be better if you wanted to use the effect with distortion, and the CE-5 Chorus if you wanted a clean chorused sound.
CE-5 is the chorus ensemble

ive got some good pedals, which is for bass
The Boss obd is just an awesome piece of metal, very variable and suits many musicstyles awesome
Digitech synth bass wah, awesome little play thingy, which will make you cream when you test it
crybaby bass wah, its just fantastic...no other words
i made my own pedal once...hella ugly, it was a fuzz pedal cause thats really easy to make
didnt sound too bad either, but i sold it to my friend for $15
What all distortion pedals does everyone use. And don't say My amp's distortion!! Just post if you use a specific distortion pedal. I myself use Line 6 Uber Metal.

With all respect, amp distortion, or real overdriving is best, in my opinion. The BOSS DS-1 is good tho.
i got a Boss DS-1 (6/10)
ive used
Boss MT-2 Metal Zone (6/10)
Line 6 Uber Metal (7/10)
Digitech Grunge (5/10)
Digitech X-series Metal Master (10/10)
Boss MD-2 Mega Distortion (9/10)
Digitech Death Metal (3/10)

I wasn't saying that using your amp's distortion is bad at all, man. I was just saying this is an effects pedals thread so discuss effects pedals. If i had good amp distortion i would prefer to use that.

Dang you hvae had a LOT of distortion pedals. I see that you've used uber metal too, things built like a german tank.
Does anybody know of ANYWHERE where i can hear samples from either Boss Super chorus or Ce-5 WITH distortion. I have heard plenty of samples with just clean chorus. I am mainly going to use it for distorted sounds but i am also gonna use it for clean too.

How'd you do it? I wanna make one.
It requires basic soldering skills (not hard to learn) and and a soldering iron, and some parts...
Here's a helpful site to tell you all about it. (http://www.tonepad.com/projects.asp?projectType=fx)

I have Boss MT-2 and it's pretty cool.
I had a great link.... you could listen to samples of all Boss effects
i lost it.... i'll try to find it.
Thanks man, but they are usually just clean. I am looking to hear some sounds of the chorus pedals with distortion. If anyone has this pedal woudl you be nice enough to make you OWN recordings of just distortion and boss chorus? If you do you'll gain +50 offspring forum points.
