I don't understand the purpose of the buddy list. What does it do? There's no: "Buddies online" thing on the front page...so what's the point of the buddy list? Does anyone know?

I don't understand the purpose of the buddy list. What does it do? There's no: "Buddies online" thing on the front page...so what's the point of the buddy list? Does anyone know?
A little white plus appears next to the person's name in that "Whos online" list. And if you go to the Buddy List through the Quick Links menu (http://www.offspring.com/forums/misc.php?do=buddylist&focus=1) you can PM all of your "buddies" at the same time. So no, there is no purpose of it.
