Read the title.
I love languages myself and I've studied (Swedish), English, sign language, Spanish and German.

Well, I can speak and write spanish (my mother tongue), german and english. And I understand french as well, although I can't speak and write it properly. So I voted for 'more than 3' :p

It seems that everybody here is a language cathedratic or so. That's cool.

PS: Do language cathedratics exist?

Spanish (mothern language), German, English, French and a Spanish dialect which is (almost?) the same as Catalan. Total = 5

Si lo haces por joder entonces tranqui, da igual. Pero si realmente crees que el catalán es un dialecto estás equivocada (¿chica, verdad?). El catalán, como el francés o el español, es una lengua románica derivada del latin y no proviene en absoluto del español.

In English, please. Everybody here has the right to understand what we are saying.

I meant that Valenciano is a dialect, not Catalan. I know Catalan is a language itself. My point was that Valenciano is a dialect of Catalan, although they are really simmilar. Read my post again.

They say you can become fluent in it in seven months. I've been studying it for a year, but not very intensely at all. It's wicked-easy though. Only three irregular verbs in the whole language. The syntax is pretty similar to English, also.

English and French. I don't plan on learning other languages even though I'd like to.

I don't think people should say "I know some words in this language therefore I speak this language". If it counts I also talk Spanish since I'm able to say very, I mean very simple sentences.

Yeah, that's lame. Then I could claim I 'speak' at least 16 because I understand words here and there. And that's bullshit.

Speak as in speak fluently or at least be able to communicate a bit in very simple phrases. I classify that as 'speaking' a language.

English and German fluently, but I really should start speaking German a bit more, I can tell it's getting a bit worse with my speaking English mainly, it's kind of fun at work now, I got moved to a different part of the office and get to listen in to the conversations of the German speakers for amazon.
