I'd like to point out first of all that I have little to no experience of the "rap culture", as I suppose you might like to call it, and this is a little something I thought of earlier today, and I'm proposing as a raw statement. Nothing more.

So, onto it. Walking down the street with a few college people today, I saw a band of around 3 hooded fellows hurling abuse at a black kid in the street. Just as we started to walk towards them, they walked off.

And it occured to me - the hooded kids seemed like the kind of kids who'd listen to rap music and the like, yet they were hurling abuse at a black kid. I've seen this quite a lot, especially in Birmingham - kids who idolise black musicians hurling abuse at black kids in the street. Why do people who idolise a culture so much also abuse and degrade it at the same time?

It is true that they want to be 'black'. I have myself seen this in my local area. I find it appalling that these idiots think they can get away with this abuse. I do find it funny how they run away though. The other day I was waiting for my friend and these 3 hooded boys (2 black and 1 white) were shouting rasist comments at a shall I say tanned lady. When she turned round and walked towards them the little shits run off. I though it was really funny to see them scuttling of down the road to tell mummy.

I want to agree with that. What most people seem to have in mind is that "black people", and I am speaking of those who also like the rap culture (whatever) and for instance also dress like that, are bad guys with attitudes who attack random people just for fun. Isn't it also in people's heads that a lot of black gansters also attack their "own kind", call them "nigger" and blow each other's brains out?

Well yeah basically. I imagine that the people who try and be black, have so little contact and interaction with black society. That they can basically think whatever they want (or whatever they are told) about black people, and not know whether it's true or not. Or take some factual information and mangle it in with a whole lot of crap.
